We went to Atlantic City for a bachelor party. On the way back we decided to google a restaurant for our party of 12. Hungover, hungry, and a long drive ahead of us. We wanted just a place that had eggs and toast. So we saw Rodios kitchen with 4.8 star reviews. I talked our party into giving it a chance. I called ahead to be sure they had room for our party she said yes, we will make it work. When we arrive our initial thoughts were “no way” “this place can’t fit our party”. She said give me a few minutes and I’ll get a table.
One thing needs to be clear. Our entire party agrees that this was the ABSOLUTE BEST experience we have ever had at any restaurant. But it gets better - stay tuned. So we get seated. Not only was the lady I spoke to positive, kind, and hilariously silly beautiful... she is the OWNER. Wow. She took our entire parties order by memory. She brought us breakfast samples of different pancakes and French toast. I ended up calling her “mom” as a compliment for the way she spoke and treated us.
The food comes out. Not only was all of our orders correct to our tweaks and requests, but the food was amazing! Absolutely amazing. One of the members of our party asked for her to surprise him. So he got a 2 phase meal LOL menus are written on the walls of the dining room so no menus which is so cool.
I want to make one detail personally clear as well. This was an experience that may just be for food. But something is to be said to have an experience somewhere. You can tell in the first 5 minutes it isn’t about money with her. It is something she loves. That restaurant is her baby. Thank you Michele for the absolute amazing experience and ending to our bachelor party weekend. And yes, we are flying you out to attend or cater this...
Read moreI’ve passed this small breakfast establishment many times while driving through Folsom. Today was the day I decided to check it out. There were many cars in the lot, which is a good indicator. All the tables and booths were occupied so we were seated at the counter, which is also a positive indicator. But I can only conjecture Rodeo kitchen was having an off day. It took the waitress 10 minutes to take our drinks order and then five minutes later to bring coffee. The coffee was provided in a paper cup (similar to the Wawa 12 oz cup). Water was provided in a plastic bottle. We had already made up our mind to order the specials: pork roll and egg on a bagel for me and Italian French toast w/scrapple for my guests. We waited another five minutes after the coffee was delivered to have the waitress take our food order. It took over 1/2 hour for our meal to be carried out. My pork roll egg sandwich had cinnamon maple syrup taste which means it was cooked with the French toast; it’s not a terrible combination, but just not my preferred combo of sweet bagel with eggs, We requested a coffee refill and was told they were making it. The food was warm and fresh. The pork roll was not Taylor brand. My guests described the scrapple as gritty cornmeal cooked in pork lard; they could not taste any meat in the scrapple. We received our 2nd cup of coffee 55 minutes after our 1st cup when we were done with our meal and waiting for the check. The atmosphere is great, patrons were jovial and enjoying their meal. People were quiet and friendly. Rodios feels safe and comfy. There is plenty of parking. It’s conveniently located near several major highways. I probably won’t...
Read moreWhen you've been around long enough you hear people talk about their favorite little "hole in the wall" places to eat. This is definitely one of those places. There's only room for about 20 people to dine but I like those types of places. There's less chance of getting forgotten in the shuffle. The menu consists of a bunch of construction paper shapes hung all over the walls so it does take some time to read everything unless you've been there a few times to know what you like there. Service was a bit slow but you could tell the daughter was young & learning the ropes to join the family business but you add that to the fact that every order is made fresh on the spot & you are going to be waiting a while for your meals. That being said - I had the best breakfast I've had in a very long time. Every bite was amazing & MORE than made up for the wait. The owner came out several times to chat with us. She was super sweet & personable. It reminded me of sitting in my family's kitchen on a Sunday morning chatting, eating breakfast & having coffee while catching up with the family. My biggest complaint about the place is its appearance. I don't know if it was actually dirty or because everything in it was so dated & didn't look fresh & bright that it made things look dirty. The men's bathroom door was blocked by a mop bucket & mop which was a good sign but still off-putting. All in all we had a great experience & breakfast & the owner is aces in our book. We will definitely be returning. Her cooking was phenomenal. I can see why she's been...
