uhh what can i say but fantastic. i havent frequented many mexican restaurants, but this was an amazing experience. i have a hard time making descisions, and our server easily guided me to the perfect meal for me. I got a steak chimichanga fajita with no sour cream, and a side of queso which i am also not very used to.

at first i thought i was getting black beans with the meal, out came refried beans, and they were cold which initially threw me off. but once i ate a bit of the whole package together, chimi, guac, tomato, lettuce, rice, refried beans, i was instantly blown away. absolutely the best bites ive had in fond du lac so far. i had loved saltys, and sebastians. but this place really took the cake.

the server was friendly, amazing, attentive just the right amount. he also reccomended i go with steak i the chimi which i dont think was on the menu, and im glad i did. the steak was tender!

now the one thing i will say, is the blue coctail i had was good, but a bit overpriced for my taste. i think i would have been happier with a margarita or something.

either way, the food was beyond amazing and well seasoned, wait time wasnt horrible, and for all that it is an ez 5 star all day from me personally.

we will be back to try many of the offerings, and im so glad we came across this hidden gem. for me im surprised this is not sitting...

Our server, Alex, was an absolute 11/10. Our first visit, we were seated promptly by the host despite a very large group having been seated ahead of us. The menu is extensive and clear. We chose Mexican style taco platter and Enchiladas Colorado- all very generous portions and tasty. My date treated me to one of their signature tequila drinks- it was delicious. Alex advised us our order may take a bit longer due to the v large group. No problem at all- we appreciated the honesty and the heads-up. We decided to queue up the Brewers baseball game on our media device while we waited. Alex took notice and offered to put the game on one of the wall mounted tvs in the dining area. Awesome! Turns out the game was being played in SF, therefore out-of-market for their provider. The offer was still much appreciated. Every visit to our table, Alex took the time to make certain we were enjoying our visit, and as it was the end of service, we had an opportunity to chat w him personally. Turns out he's a Cubs fan, but we forgive him for that lol but sincerely, we will absolutely return...

They need some work on their menu items. I ordered carry out here back in 2020 and didn’t really enjoy the food so much but I thought I’d try them again and give it a chance at redemption . Not so much. I ordered the beef burrito and chile relleno dinner combination and the burrito only came with a soupy, clearly old, sloppy joe tasting filling inside, nothing else. Beef soup inside a tortilla. Chile relleno I’m pretty sure had the same filling. Beans that came with the dinner were super thin and had an off taste.

Rice was the best thing on the plate by far. Everything was put in a single carry out container so then my sad burrito turned into sad enchilada. On top of it all the online ordering system says it will text when the order is done, and they must not hit confirm on their end ever because that text (on both orders, two years apart) did not work either time and my food was just sitting at the counter by the time I showed up for who...

I have been a long time enjoyer of El Patrón since their days as Mazatlan. The food and service has always been number one in my book. Unfortunately, they have since shattered their reputation as the great resturaunt I once enjoyed. At my most recent visit to El Patrón, I ordered a macho burrito and my guest ordered a Mexican salad. Before I could take a bite, my guest noticed a large bug that was twitching in her food. I brought this up to the waitress and she was dismissive that there was a problem. This urked me greatly as this killed the appetite of my guest and my own appetite as well. I told the waitress that neither of us were hungry any more and wished to leave. Though we were not charged for the salad, I was still required to pay full price for the burrito which I did not take a bite of. This was a very unfortunate way to ruin my view of this restaurant.

Friendly employee greeted me promptly, seated me & brought my drink. Looked over a menu with LOTS of items, meaning even the pickiest eaters can find something to eat. Waitress returned with chips & salsa. Ordered guacamole (was informed of the price) & it appeared to be fresh & seasoned just right. Chips seemed a little greasy. Order placed with changes and delivered to table as ordered. Wished there would have been more veggies than onions with the shrimp fajitas. Could've been grilled a little less so there was some crunch to the veggies. Portion size is good in relation to the cost. Asked just enough times as to not be a nuisance if there was anything else that I needed. Refills as needed.
