I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Carl Schultz for 3 years. During that time I had the opportunity of being one of the few training beneath Carl back when he was the Head Chef of Legend’s Grille at Tryon International Equestrian Center.
As I worked with Carl I got to know him as not only as culinary expert, but as a great great person with a great amount of wisdom and kindness to bestow. Carl frequently lit up the room with his hospitality and always welcomed hard conversations despite how much effort that might take.
The importance of cleanliness, the value of using each product in its entirety to create something great, the appreciation for ALL the work it took to get each piece of a meal together so it could bring happiness to some else entirely are traits you can see not only exemplified by his speech, but also by his actions.
Carl Schultz is someone that cares about his fellow people. Every fiber of his being rings true to this. For as long as I live I don’t think I’ll be able to forget the day I attempted to try to help Carl on my day off. I was attempting to help Carl, Nelson, and Bryce get ready to sweep, mop, and close shop when Carl stops me in my tracks and letting me know that “You have too much value to work for free…That’s something we don’t do around here…You can either clock in right now or I don’t want your help”.
I value that story dearly and is a testimony to not only the type of person Carl Schultz, but to him as a business, employer, leader, and chef. He’s a great person that wants the best and you can trust your money is going to a someone that wants to bring happiness into the world when you do business here. There isn’t a place above Hope House Coffee I...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting Hope House Coffee Co. And it did not disappoint!!!
I've been hearing about this place for awhile now. From the many teachers at my kids school and even just going to get groceries.
I had the Mayan Mocha Frappe and my wife had the Cookie Dough Frappe! We also splurged on Apple and Nutella Scones. They were delish!🤤
The Mayan is very different from anything I've had before. It's basically a caramel mocha frappe but with cayenne pepper inside of it. And OH. EM. GEE. It was good! Heads up though, it has a kick! *I added caramel drizzle and had the whipped cream blended into the frappe.
Now, the cookie dough didn't really taste like cough dough, mostly caramel, but it was still good! There was a hint of it, but the caramel just seemed to over power the cookie dough.
The scones were ehh.🤷🏽♂️ By no means nasty, just too Bready for my liking. The upside is they were definitely not processed. They tasted homemade. The apple scone was the best one. I think some apple butter would have sent it over the top!
Needless to say I think we finally found a really good coffee house to call home! Lolz
Anyone that knows me, knows that I am not a fan of Starbucks. 🙄 Sorry not sorry, but all but one of their drinks always taste watered down. And Hope House coffee has that "Full" flavor i've been looking for since Village Coffee closed its doors.
So, we will definitely be back to Hope House! I'll have my wife follow them on Facebook. I want to try the Lion...
Read moreI had to come update my review, it’s been a good 5ish months and at this point I’ve tried everything on the menu. I can happily tell you that EVERYTHING is fantastic and worth ordering. Tried the homemade oatmeal cream pie this morning and I am BLOWN away. All the treats taste seriously gourmet but this is so good I’m borderline in happy tears. Pretty sure I hear angels singing with each bite. I can also tell you with 100% certainty that I will never order a Pink Drink from Starbucks again as long as I can reach Hope House. Hands down the best I’ve ever had and I’m on the edge of being addicted to them lol! Puts the crud Starbucks calls a Pink Drink to shame. The new cookies and caffeine flavor is also so dreamy, and was filled with real cookie and icing pieces. Don’t pass up trying the brown sugar, maple, and the honey...
