Shooterz — Restaurant in Forest City

Friendly place but not all that attentive. I ordered the $40 prime Rib. Wasn't really impressed with it. Kinda overcooked but I could live with that. But when I cut into it - a brown ooze came out of two little pockets in the meat.

Really off putting, ya know? So... I didn't eat it. When the server - nice kid - came by... he asked me "how was it?". I said "not all that great. Strange brown liquid from these pockets in the meat. See?" And I showed him.

He said "oh... I think that is our marinade". Then went to ask the chef. Came back a couple minutes later with the check - full price - and not another word.

Oh... he did ask me if I wanted a box. I kinda looked at him - sadi flatly "uh... no... thanks". Paid my bill and left.

Kinda bummed me out. Local spot and all. Expected better. At least something like "if you didn't eat it... don't pay for it".

Update: Those oozy brown spots... kept on my mind. Didn't sit well. So I checked up on it. Called a chef friend of mine.

Can't be sure (should of taken a pic) but let's just say... he suspected low-quality meat - something called ulcers. I won't go into more detail.

Again... maybe this was a one-off for Shooterz. Maybe. But still - the situation should of been made right, without my having to ask. ...

I don't want to discourage anyone from trying this place out, but we didn't have a good experience ordering food for pickup for dinner. The phone rang until it disconnected twice. Then someone answered on the third try. The gentleman that answered was friendly and took my order and told me it would be ready in 30 minutes. I was there right at the time I was told, paid, and drove the 6 minutes back to our RV. My husband's cheese burger had no cheese and didn't have a good taste or smell. His fries were old, cold, and unsalted. My ribs seemed to have been sitting in a water bath. They were waterlogged. My sweet potato fries were old,cold, and and many were burnt on the ends. I closed all the boxes and took everything back. The bartender was very nice and offered to remake or refund. I opted for the refund. I gave them 2 stars because he was so nice. Not only are there prices not current on there Facebook page but I get home and have been overcharged. Paid 14.95 for there spaghetti meal but charged a dollar extra for meat sauce that's suppose to be included in price and then charged a credit card fee when I paid cash. It says right on bottom of there receipts cash discount policy never received that either. Called twice and nobody could find manager, waited 1/2 hr. Called back and finally got to speak to him told how bad the spaghetti was that it was just tiny chunks of meat on top and no sauce and about being over charged all he had to say was stop back in sometime we owe you what a couple of dollars. No sorry your meal was gross and you weren't happy, or sorry about you being over charged nothing just stop back in I'll remember. Needless to say I'll stop back and get my money but they just lost 2 customers tonight I...
