Feb 2024: This is a favorite restaurant of some friends so we tried again and were pleasantly surprised! I had the prime rib again and it was very good this time. Others had a Bacon Cheeseburger, Fried Fish and also the Grilled Fish with a baked potato (guessing Walleye). Add to that the friendly service (our friends are regulars and were greeted as such) and we're willing to put this back on our list of possibilities when in the area. From 2016, 3 Stars: We had the walleye dinner and prime rib dinner special on a Saturday night. The prime rib was a little tough but they replaced it with another, which was still just ok. I don't think I'd try it here again. I love prime rib and unfortunately this cut was "mealy"? The server was nice! My date loved the mashed potatoes and gravy and I liked the au gratin potatoes. The vegetable beef barley soup was AMAZING!!

First time here and thought the food was very good and it was a very cozy atmosphere with great service. Sat in booth in dining room and it wasn’t too busy. Had the walleye special with a baked potato, it was filling and delicious. As someone who likes to fish, I could tell the walleye was authentic as you’d have to watch for bones every so bite, so if that’s not your thing I recommend a different dish. The cheese curd appetizers were amazing and tasted just like state fair cheese curds, nice and hot and very delicious. Server was very friendly as well. I highly recommend this place, I went on a Friday afternoon for lunch and there was plenty of seating in dining room.

Tried the broasted chicken and it was superb!! Not too greasy but very tasty and not dried out. Love the seasoning in the skin. I savored every bite! Came with choice of potato and side such as salad, coleslaw. Not big wine menu but red blend was fresh and enjoyable. Staff wearing masks which I appreciated. Would have preferred a paper menu but menu looked clean. Wait staff very friendly and frequently checked backed even though busy. They have a taco night on Mondays, Tuesdays which I look forward to trying. Wed night all you can eat fish fry. Great place to enjoy a relaxing, delicious dinner for a great price.

The staff shortage is showing at this restaurant unfortunately. I felt really bad for everyone working. Summertime is literally the busiest time of the year for lake side restaurants but they had a sign up asking for more help in the kitchen, and another sign stating their restaurant would close earlier than usual and not be open at all other days.

The wait staff also couldn't give the best service because I think they had too many tables to tend to. Our food took a while to come out and maybe it's my fault for ordering the 1/4 broasted chicken instead of the 1/2, but I felt like the size of the chicken I received was smaller than what the high price I paid warranted. The chicken itself was delicious though, I'll give it that. The fries were lackluster, but not the worst I've had by any means. My friend’s mushroom bites were pretty oily and not cooked the best.

All in all, I think if you get the right thing and maybe go at a less busy time, you will have a fine experience, but I personally would not go back. Also, they had uncomfortable metal chairs (old tractor seats) on the patio and it was difficult to sit very long, so I stood for...

Worst customer service we have experienced in a very long time. We were celebrating our friend's 56th wedding anniversary. Our Waitress was.... let's just say on the rough side. Gave us a friendly greeting, then said "okay let's get to it, what will you have?" When my husband wanted to order, he asked her to come over to him as he did not want to talk over everyone and he has hearing loss. She commented, "I can hear you just fine from here. " Rude. The menu is very limited, not much to choose from. I had the half chicken salad sandwich and wild rice soup. The soup cup was only half full and cold, the sandwich was average. Our guests were also disappointed with their order and the service. We ordered 2 slices of 🎂 cake, letting our Waitress know that it was our friend's 56th anniversary. She wished them a happy anniversary. Our waitress bought out our orders of cake to share. On one plate, with two forks sticking out of it and no extra plate. Most of the time other restaurants bring extra plates and give a discount to the couple celebrating a special occasion. Will we return?...

Ate at the patio in the afternoon— gorgeous garden with a lovely atmosphere, despite being terrorized by a large bee, as it happens sometimes at restaurants. Food was overall disappointing with the exception of the cheese curds, which are hard to mess up. The chicken “dumpling” (akin to spaetzle) soup was served to me with a fair portion of it inside the plate rather than the bowl, with the napkin entirely soaked through. Splitting a seafood platter with hashbrowns, the only food that felt close to being seasoned enough was the non-fried shrimp. The non-battered fish was okay, but nothing special. Fried shrimp had an interesting texture, if not much else. The fried fish was bland and the exterior… sort of pooled oil as you stuck your fork in? In a very unappealing way. The hashbrowns were perhaps the most disappointing part, a very large portion of loose, soggy, unseasoned, bland, and half-colored potato shreds. The chocolate fudge cake was extremely dense, but moist and with an...
