We hiked the Loyalsock Trail tirelessly. Needless to say we were famished so we hightailed it over to this place...I stood outside and thought...this place has food comparable to Philly ?!? Mmmhummm? So I went in I ordered The Diablo..oh wait I'm jumping ahead to far. We parked walked up on the porch and was greeted by a big fat black cat who rubbed against out legs as we walked to the door. Upon entering we were greeted by a jolly looking dark haired man with a thick (New York?) accent ...walked a few more steps another smiling face..his daughter I later found out. "Hey guys have a seat get comfy find a seat I'll be right over" we sat she came over biggest smile nicest vibe took our drinks and app order. We got Mozzy sticks :) delicious..you could tell they use clean oil bcnthe color of the sticks were PERFECT. About 5/7 mins later our food came out. (We all were very happy with what we got I'm telling you my experience) I was unsure about the garlic butter sauce the menu said was drizzled over the top of the Diablo but the waitress assured me I'd love it. She brought out out food and O.M.G. it was beautiful to look at ho'made chips and fresh cut fries also perfectly crisp. I took a bite...a huge one lol..once all the flavors danced in my mouth I was immediately satisfied and had to finish or tryro finish this mouth watering mater piece. I ate 3/4ths of it. On the way out we had to compliment the entire establishment bc we found out they actually we're closing a few mins after w walked in. Everyone was so nice, plesasent, friendly ...it was a treat to say the least. It is now a tradition...we hike the trail...we go to The Forksville General Store. It was delicious. You...

Cool place... inside and outside dining... has an old small town general store look and feel. If you're eating outside or taking out, you order at the counter, and they call your name over a PA system when your foods ready. We waited outside in the picnic area. You're yards away from the covered bridge and the Loyalsock River. While the day was hot, there was a nice breeze and large trees shading a majority of the picnic area. Cheese steaks were very good, loaded with meat and toppings (cheese, onions, and mushrooms, one beef and one chicken cheese steak). One of the reasons I took off a ½⭐️ is my roll was wet. I think it was from the steam being wrapped in the foil, but it required me to eat it with a fork, and I'm not a prissy girl. It just wasn't possible to pick it up. BUT... it was really good! The other reason for the ½⭐️ deduction is it took a really long time to get our food... when we got it, it was hot, but it took a bit too long... like 50 minutes long. Overall, I'd highly recommend Big Mike's... great place to meet up with your biker buddies! Very...
Read moreHaving been to World's End state park several times, I drove past the covered bridge, I've seen the building and often wondered, even wanted to drive by or stop in for the sample of small town charm. Yesterday was the first time I've done so, and I have to say: Big Mikes Steak & Hoagies offer the best food on the planet. I ride motorcycles, and as motorcyclists often do, we drive 200 miles just to get a bite to eat. I probably have to been to 300 different places for food, so I am speaking from personal experience. Big Mikes beats all others! There is absolutely no doubt or question in my mind to make such a bold claim and I stand by it. The absolute best garlic fries and steak and cheese on the planet!! Stop in and see for yourself! And tell Big Mike I said hello. (I had the distinct honor and absolute privilege of speaking with him yesterday and, I can tell you, he is a stand up guy! An absolute pleasure!) Thank you, Big Mike! I plan on seeing you a lot more often. Keep the...
