The burger here was ABSOLUTELY scrumptious! We came here on a recommendation, and it did not disappoint.

Their little gift shop is a maximalist dream, chalked full of fun knick knacks, gifts, clothes, toys, food, and trinkets of all kinds! I could've been in there for hours looking at everything. Whenever I turned around, I saw something new. The gal at the counter was very nice, too. The only thing I'd mention is that the majority of the items didn't have the price listed on them. The food here was hands down some of the best I've had in a while. There were plenty of options from beef to chicken and even a salmon burger, too. If you're more in the mood for a hot dog, they have it! If you're thinking of oysters, they have those, too! I had the Sunset Burger and their rootbeer. The burger overall had a great flavor, and the toasted bun was perfect for holding together the juicy patty and all the toppings! Im a sucker for a place that uses good lettuce and tomatoes, and they definitely did. Also, there's live entertainment! It was a blast listening to live music while spending time with my family and enjoying some good food.

This is such a fun place to stop after spending some time on the river or trecking through the redwoods. I'd say skip the flashy showy tourist stops and come here! "Never...

5/16/24: beef was tasty, but the entire sandwich was SLATHERED in a disgusting amount of mayo. It was literally oozing out of the sides. Sandwich was put together very sloppily, like they were in a rush & everything was thrown on.

Cashier was nice but I didn’t like how he asked the lady in front of me if she wanted to leave a tip on her credit card. There’s already a sign posted to let cashier know if you want to leave a credit card tip. You order food at the counter and then pick it up when they call your name/clear your own trash (which is fine). Not sure what the requested tips are for?? I always tip 20% if there are servers (none here - also fine).

Bathrooms are in a separate building through the walkway entrance marked with the restroom sign. No soap which is disgusting for a food establishment!

Burger (includes small cup of slaw) & drink came out to around $18 including tax. Was looking forward to trying them out based on the reviews. ...

There's something special around every curve and you'll miss this gem if you don't slow down and pull in! Situated in the north mountains along California Redwood Highway 101, this little store is stuffed to the gills with all your mountain travel needs. Be it for warmth or collecting...racks of souvenir shirts, jackets, and hats beg for your attention! Speaking of souvenirs, their large array of magnets, knives, puzzles, jewelry and art will amaze you. Don't forget to grab something from the cooler or the deli case and take a rest in their outdoor garden courtyard. There we found several tables and chairs surrounded by towering sunflowers and other colorful flowers and this gently covered courtyard wouldn't be complete with a stage, so check out the calendar to see who is playing and when! Oh, a separate building nextdoor houses restrooms so you can check that need off your list too. (The huge frosted brownie slice was delicious and shared by...

"Never Don’t Stop" at The Peg House, California 🍔🌲✨ If you're road tripping through Northern California on Highway 101, The Peg House is a must-stop destination nestled in the redwoods near Leggett, CA, just minutes from the Drive-Thru Tree Park and the Avenue of the Giants. 📍 Location: 69501 US-101, Leggett, CA 95585 Right across from Standish-Hickey State Recreation Area. 🕒 Open Seasonally (Spring–Fall) They usually open around March/April and close for winter in November. 🌭 What to Expect: Legendary BBQ burgers and hot dogs, grilled to order Famous homemade cookies and banana bread Local wine, beer, and unique road trip snacks Live music on weekends during peak season A funky, eclectic outdoor seating area with redwood charm Gift shop with local artisan goods, Peg House merch, and funky souvenirs ✨ Fun Fact: Their slogan, "Never Don’t Stop", is iconic—and once you visit, you’ll get why. 💡 Pro Tips: It’s a great place to fuel up (literally and spiritually) before heading deeper into the Lost Coast or continuing down the coast. Grab a cookie for the road—you’ll regret it if you don’t. Bring cash just in case (card readers sometimes act up in the forest). 🌿 Don’t drive past this hidden gem in the redwoods! Save this spot for your next California road trip and tag someone you’d share a burger under the trees with. 🌲🍔 #NeverDontStop #redwoods #vanlife
