Perkins American Food Co. — Restaurant in Fort Pierre

We visited yesterday, July 28, 2021.

The waitress was very rude. No pleasantries or please thank you you're welcome. When our drink order was taken, they were out of everything we wanted. There was no lemonade for me, no powerade for my fiance, no orange soda for my son. So my fiance and I ordered water because we don't drink soda. She slammed the mustard we asked for on the table. We ran out of drinks and had to ask another waitress for a refill because our waitress disappeared. Our waitress didn't come back to ask how we were, ask if we wanted dessert (I was going to buy a pie to take home) or if we needed boxes. The other waitress was our savior, she got our to go boxes and refills, where our waitress was I don't know. She was not nice to us. But she was sure nice to the table next to us, I overheard her gushing and fawning over their table next to us as we got up to leave. Maybe because we are natives and every other table in the restaurant was not native? She even put our ticket on the table so she didn't have to provide any service to us after she decided she was done. WE GAVE HER TIP TO THE WAITRESS WHO ACTUALLY SERVED US, not the waitress we were assigned

We were told "she was having a bad day" by other staff. But her bad day should not be taken out on me or my family. We won't be eating here again, maybe if we had the other waitress and not the one they gave to...

Visited last evening and had excellent service and very good hostess to make certain everything was up to par (9/14/2017). To attend a scheduled meeting on 9/15/2017 which had been scheduled for approximately one year. When I arrived we were told it was a very busy day and we couldn't use the room we had reserved because it was the bicenntenial celebration, we would have to find some place else for our meeting. Our group came from all over the State of SD and Kansas. The manager was very rude, however rudely told us that we could use the room after we set it up for the meeting; but we were inconvencing her greatly. I watched one area of the restaurant during our meeting and no one was ever seated in that part of the restaurant to eat; must not have been too busy during the day. After many years of holding meetings at this restaurant; we were refused scheduling for the next meeting. I will give kudos to the waitresses who served coffee, water and lunch. They were excellent. Our next meeting will be held somewhere else in Pierre unless this manager sees fit to offer an apology. I travel 7 states and Perkins has always been my go-to restaurant for good food, good dessert, and cleanliness. Not the FT. PIERRE location after...

This is the second time we have eaten here in the last 6 months or so. Both times have been very disappointing. Will not go back. We went for lunch around 2:30 and had to wait to be seated(only about 3 people eating at that time). The host just looked at us and turned around and left. When he finally came back, we asked for a table, which was dirty. He said he would come back and wipe the table off. He left and when he finally came back to take our order, we reminded him to wipe our table off. He only cleaned about half of it. The other tables had dirty plates on them and tables and floors were filthy. After our food came, we had to send back because of being very cold. Once they microwaved it, the food was good. Never seen our server after that, no refills, and no bill. It seemed like the employees were more interested in talking in the back tables, rather the trying to clean up tables, dirty dishes, and floor. We will never go back.
