Great energy & Great food! So far I've had the comforting beef soup, seriously melt in your mouth tamales, hot tortilla's & the Atol de Elote which is a sweet & warm corn beverage sometimes seasoned with cinnamon and vanilla. Delicious!
This place has lots of booths and tables for small and large groups. The Guatemalan music playing definitely adds spirit to the experience. If you aren't familiar with the Marimba, you should check it out. It's a beautiful instrument both aesthetically and equally to the ears!
The owner, Rolando, is a happy & genuine man who brings excitement and reverence into his brand new venture, EL MESON Chapin. The wife a part of the back scene magic as she is the main cook. The son, on holiday break from school was our sweet and humble waiter this afternoon. It's quite endearing to see a family working so harmonious together. A labor of love. It's every part of the whole that come together to bring great satisfaction to where you mindfully invest your money and the wonderful return received.

Read moreWOW! I had never had Guatemalan food before and now it's all I am craving! We started with Atole a corn-based hot drink and we never looked back!! Next we tried the stuffed plantain which had sweetened black beans, this appetizer could easily have been labeled a dessert. Then we had a Chile Relleno which was outstanding, flavored beautifully and great presentation as well. For the main course, I had Pollo en Crema which was an absolute delight and super-fresh. My buddy was kind of enough to share part of his Guatemalan Grilled Steak with Chimichurri and WOW WOW WOW, most tender steak I've had in ages and super flavorful. We spoke with the owner at length and he was very kind and generous to share how they prepared our food and which spices they used. Along with the beautiful marimba-inspired music in background, food and service and music made this a quick favorite of ours, can't wait wait to share with others about this...
Read moreI can't believe this place has been open for 6 years in Fort Worth and I didn't know about it. I have been driving to Garland and Dallas to get Guatemalan Food. Not any more!!! 😊 My experience here was A+++. I was born and raised in Guatemala, so I know Guatemalan Food. This place is as good as it gets. We started with a pork tamal - it was very tasty and authentic. They serve this salsa, it's just a perfect combination of flavor and spice! I had atol de elote - delicious! My plate had scrambled eggs with tomatoes and onions, delicious carne adobada, longaniza, delicious black beans with sweet-mouth melting-plantains and sour cream and fresh cheese. Fresh hand made tortillas, marimba music, etc. My husband's breakfast plate came with chimichurri carne- very tender and flavorful. The service- very amiable. The owner came out multiple times to greet and chat with patrons, very nice touch! I can't wait...
