I saw this restaurant on social media and had to try it. The staff here were extremely friendly and treated us like family. It's a pretty small building with only 4 tables, but the food was really good. The serving sizes were huge, and we had plenty of leftovers.
As soon as we arrived, we were offered some of their watermelon kool-aid, and it did not disappoint.
They have their own finishing seasoning that made lots of their already good food taste so much better.
Their signature gravy stood out. It took the potatoes and the chicken fried chicken to another level.
Their catfish was cooked crispy like I liked, but it didn't have as much flavor as everything else. I'm a tough critic on catfish because I try everyone's catfish everywhere I go. I would give it a 6.5/10. I also tried the hot honey catfish. This was my first time trying hot honey fish. It was pretty good, but I don't think I would order it again. We also tried the New Orleans catfish. The Cajun crawfish and shrimp Alfredo sauce really carried the catfish, but it came with sweet and spicy fries that we did not enjoy at all. Their regular plain fries are ten times better, in my opinion.
The corn nuggets were really good, especially since they put their finishing seasoning on it.
Their shrimp was cooked to perfection. Crispy, big, and seasoned.
The beef steak was one of the favorites we had at our table. It was one of the best beef steaks we ever had.
We really loved the Scarlett Smile Philly Cheesesteak. It was so flavorful. This was also a favorite of ours. This was one of the top 3 meals at our table.
The fried chicken potato stacker was THE favorite. #1. I had so much left over, and it was just as good later that evening when I ate the rest. The crispy chicken and the gravy really put this meal on a different level! I would go back just for this and the dessert (we'll get to this soon).
The okra was good, and the green beans were okay.
The noodle macaroni let me down just a bit. It wasn't bad, but I really love mac & and cheese, so I had my taste buds ready for it. The reason that I was a bit let down was because it tasted more like tetrazzini.
Lastly, the dessert. Obviously, we had ALOT of food, so we were pretty full. Anna came by and asked if we were ready for dessert. We said no thanks. She said, "You'll change your mind," then came around with the banana nut cookie pudding and gave everyone a sample (spoon full). After tasting this, we ordered four of them. We were gonna save them for later, but one of them didn't even make it through the car ride home. This was a 10/10. I'd come back here just for this when I'm craving something sweet.
Overall, I'd give this...
Read moreUPDATED THIS POST SINCE THE OWNER IS TELLING A LIE… I did t record anyone I stood there waiting while your GM ignored me. You are telling lies . If I recorded you I would have posted it. This is a new year so I am use to saying 2024 that was a mistake ..judging by this post you have bad character to say you don’t have to speak to YOUR CUSTOMERS.. crazy you have issues
NEVER AGAIN..I came in yesterday evening 1.3.25 starving- they were busy so I expected a wait. I was okay with that….The lady said she had to take one persons order before mine. So I could stand up and wait. This lady never came back to me for over 30 minutes.. she even closed the curtain in my face. She never gave me eye contact anymore at this point I stayed just to see how long she was going make me just stand there. She walked around in circles taking payments talking to the chef but never said a word to me . The chef dropped the ball because he should have came out and apologized for the wait NO EXCUSES if this is your establishment every single customer is important. Not even an offer for a glass of water while waiting. When I finally decided to leave she whispered ma’am very low as though she really wanted me to leave and I told her no . I was so PISSED and HUNGRY I came home and ate noodles ..
The lady working there should rethink her entire career. A General Manager would know better. As a business owner myself that would have never happen. Your Food can be the best in Fort Worth but in this economy if your service and gratitude is not there your trash. Yes I’m still upset at the...
Read moreI took my mother here to try it out for the 1st time and oh man was it a bad idea. The waiting area looks as if this place has been here for centuries. The furniture is all mixed matched and felts like it's about to break any second. I watched random people just walk in off the street to the kitchen area with no uniform. That is a major red flag for me. Our waitress clothes was filthy and covered in flower. We waited entirely too long just to give our drink order, then when we finally get our food order taken down and waited about an hour they then tell us they need us to switch our order due to shortage of fish. We agreed and waited even longer to point i offered to just pay for our drinks and leave. At this time the chef comes out the back covered in filth all over himself and telling us "our food is almost ready and we didn't even wait that long". By this time I'm extremely pissed for him to tell me my wait wasn't long so I offered to simply pay for my drinks again and leave. He states "I don't need your money" so now we've had enough and just left without paying. This was the worst food experience I've had when trying to support small businesses and I won't be back ever. They won't be in business long I can guarantee that! I will also add that for the chef to be a religious man he is a stone cold liar and I hope to see him...
