The Eatery — Restaurant in Fountain City

The building itself is cute, very traditional farmhouse style and makes you feel like momma is about to bring you a feast. And the food wasn’t disappointing, but nothing to write home about. It looks very welcoming but the staff implies otherwise. We heard petty comments when we were there yesterday afternoon from two employees about me and my boyfriend not even two minutes after placing our order, they thought because they were in the kitchen we couldn't hear them I guess. Being the only two men sat at one table in an almost empty restaurant it was obvious who they were talking about. And our food sat in the window for five minutes while our server sat and rolled silverware because it was “close to closing time and she had side work to do” If you dont like to serve gay people then put it on your door. I understand the owner was born in 1910 and this century is different for her, but dont work in the service industry if you cant keep up with the times. Im sure she has much more open minded children that could take over so she can retire, it sure seems like she needs to. I recommend straight, elderly people visit this establishment because that is their target audience. Those of us that arent 80 and of a different diversity need...

Unprofessional and not worth it. Disrespectful and hatred. The women who works there acts entitled, rude, and a very hateful person. She was rude and disrespectful. Maybe use bold letters and not a little piece of paper that’s not visible and washout. They charge 4% when using card even debit cards. Ridiculous and unnecessary. Should be a sign visible on the wall and on the outside stating you charge overprice. The food you’re going to charge 9.99 for just a sandwich and small bowl of Mac and cheese what a waste of good hard worker money. Should be embarrassed. The workers are worst. Our waiter was unprofessional forgot our extra napkins and I had to remind him for our fries. Their loud in the back didn’t have items on the menu so stupid. Also can’t keep track which tea is what. So unorganized and probably won’t last long anyways so might as well just not waste my breathe on but you know what I felt disrespected and she treated me like I was stupid not once was I rude until someone with an attitude came at me....

My wife and I stopped in for lunch, and it was ok. My wife's food was not hot, and my fries tasted as if they were cooked and then reheated in a microwave. We didn't even get our ice tea or water refilled. Maybe they were just having a bad day. When we got to the cash register, they never even gave us a check/bill, we told them about our issues, and they basically told us we were wrong. They said they would give us $2 off our bill, which I really didn't want, but they did that anyway. I'm not sure if we will give them a second chance or not..... Everyone...
