2023: Time to update my review to 5 stars. This is, hands down, one of my favorite places. The staff is friendly and food is fresh and quick. You pick your food delivery method (bowl, taco, burrito...) and what meat you want (carne asade and chicken vinaigrette are my faves), and choose from a number of fresh toppings. AND THEY HAVE CORN, I don't know why that makes me happy, but it does. They toss the tortilla on the grill to warm it up for you - which is a terrific touch. The owner is usually there, Maria, and she's fantastic. We try to go once a week or so. You should TOO!

this review was from 2017: I'm giving them 4 stars, for now. I went for an early dinner today - 5'ish. And I swear they had no AC. It was so hot I had to tie my hair up. I walk outside for about 5 miles a day, so if I think it's hot then it is hot. That aside, I ordered the Tacodillas - you get 3. And it's just like you expect, they toss the tortilla on the grill and flip it over to get it browned. Then fold it and load it up with the taco yumminess - sort of like Subway, they let me pick what I wanted in it. The ingredients were definitely fresh. Down to the cilantro that I got on the top of the tacodillas. I suggest you give the place a try - and I suggest they have their AC checked out, too. Seriously, if I go back it will be a...

We just left from visiting Maskadores. We have been faithful customers for years, whenever we have fun money we love to bring the kids and eat here as our favorite. Today, we paid around $70 including two bottled waters. My husband even asked ā€œDid you get the watersā€ to the cashier to make sure he billed our drinks… the man said ā€œyesā€. So we take our food to the table and start eating. The cashier literally comes to our table, accuses us of not paying for our bottled waters in front of other customers, and made us walk to the register for a $3 charge. It was the rudest, most shocking, unprofessional, and unfriendly encounter.

Sadly, we won’t return. I hope that $3 was worth losing a family who really loved them. Maskadores, you used to be a friendly and inviting place. You humiliated us and made us feel awful. Couldn’t even enjoy our food.

**Updating review to add we reached out to the business to address this directly through FB Messenger on their restaurant page. They read it, and never bothered to respond. That tells me all I...

We had a first dinner experience at Maskadores this evening. Absolutely delicious. We have plans to eat there tomorrow night too. I regretfully forgot to take pictures this time. Maria is so kind. I feel like we made a new friends. Just a great food experience. Nachos with barbacoa was excellent. Street tacos were tasty. Salsa is really good and spicy. Burrito bowl offers the opportunity to make healthy choices.

UPDATE: We had to change our 5 stars to only 1 star. We used to eat here 2-3 per week with family & our clients. Not anymore. We let them know as we were walking out the door our last time in the restaurant. They acted as though they could careless too. We were ignored and disrespected for the last time. Food WAS always fantastic. Staff is RUDE and impatient. If you asked a question, forget it, somehow you were wasting their time or even made to feel like it's an inconvenience. The main lady is the crabbiest and moody. Too bad, we really like their food. It's tough business in Fountain Hills too. We will not...

This place is a really bad food truck pretending to be a restaurant. The employees were rude and refused to answer any of my questions about the menu. The lady ahead of me ordered something that I wanted and I tried six times to point at the item that she got saying I would like that, how much is it. That was too difficult she kept pointing to the menu telling me is up there. So I ended up with 3 tacos with about a tablespoon of meet a piece in them and a can of Coke for $13. There are so many other fantastic places to eat Mexican food spare yourself from this overpriced dog food. In fairness I have only been to the fountain hills location and this seems to be a operational / employee issue here. So maybe the other stores actually want repeat customers. Hit or miss seems to be the them here. I unfortunately had a bad experience and for me there will most likely not be Round 2. (I will let you be the judge) (photo)

A friend who raved about this place took me for the 5 Street Taco meal. I was very pleased with a menu of 9 meats. Awesome! I choose the Red Asada Beef and Red Carnitas Pork. Toss on some cheese, jalapeƱo, onion, cilantro and sour cream (yes I feel guilty, Not!) and my mouth was watering. I enjoyed both the Hot and Hotter Salsas. Great heat but not long lasting and much thicker than what's available at most Street Taco places and trucks I've eaten at. I look forward to trying the Green when they have it again. My friend said it was wonderful. To be honest, if I hadn't come for the Tacos I would have had a hard time deciding on what to eat. I love a picture menu, they give you a great indicator of the food you'll get. This place has a nice one. Final verdict: Both meats were tender and flavorful. I could have eaten 5 more. Great food. I can't wait to try more at the location closer to my house.
