My impression is this is a new place of business or at a minimum, completely refurbished / new interior.
I really liked the inside for a bar. They had some light country music playing in the background. Wasnt too loud. You could have a convo at your table if everyone was a little louder than normal.
They were cool with me bringing my kids in to eat. Not all bars allow that. So that was nice.
All food was made to order which for me is huge.
I'm from out of town and my impression is that it was all locals. They were quite friendly and welcoming. But not overly so, to be over bearing.
They had probably 10 interior tables. Probably 15 exterior tables, with some space heaters which was nice.
We ordered their green chile burger, chile fries, and some chicken tenders.
The burger patty was different than some pictures I saw online. It was fairly flat and larger than the buns. I'd guess a 1/4 lb.
It was cooked exactly as I asked 👍 But I was disappointed a bit that it didn't match the pics I saw online as I personally prefer thicker patties over thinner ones the green chile was fresh, high quality, and tasted great. 👍 Guessing hatch green chile. the fries were super fresh and amazing. I'm a harsh fries critic, and these being made to order and fresh - wow amazing. I liked the extra salt on them. All around some of the best fries I've had. Probably even just worth going for the fries themselves. $8 for a yummy green chile cheese burger with a serving of fries?? Umm yes. Amazing value.
The cheesy fries were decent. Again good fries, cheese was not my fav, as it was quite liquidity but I know some folks want this. And again the top notch quality green chile was fantastic.
The chicken tenders looked pretty generic. Like something frozen you'd get at a grocery store. I didn't try it, but my kids have me two thumbs up.
Alcohol selection was basically your standard domestic selection you'd find anywhere else. Nothing special on tap but they did say that would change in the future.
Of note, they had tequila, whiskey, rum, vodka and some other spirits - which is much less common in my experience. So 👍 there
All in all, great service, nice, clean, new establishment, friendly folks, made to order fresh food, quality green chile, and solid prices. I'd visit here again next time I'm...
Read moreHaven't been to the Blue Moon in many, many moons. However, I went to visit a long time friend in Radium and she made an awesome request let's go to the Blue Moon. I couldn't think of a better thing to do. So, we took the short cruz up yonder. We sat out on the patio and it was so nice. Drizzling rain and very comfortable. Even had my dog with us for awhile. Hungry, we ordered the crinkle fries with white cheese and hot hatch green chile, with hamburger meat added for an extra 1.99. The fries were absolutely delicious. The hatch green chile was rather hot for me, but tolerable. My only disappointment was the very small amount of hamburger meat added to fries for the extra 2.00. Not hardly worth the extra 2.00. I probably wouldn't order the hamburger meat on my next order, as there wasn't enough to actually change the flavor of the fries. They would have been just as good without, there was so little hamburger meat added.
All the food on the menu is deep fried. Except for a 9.99 submarine made with thin sliced turkey and the veggies that you typically find on a sub. Rather expensive for a one thin sliced turkey meat sub.
If your looking for a healthy salad or other healthy style meal, as of now the Blue Moon serves only the 9.99 submarine, as a healthy choice. If not seeking healthy there are quite a few other choices. I can vouch for the fries, however; they were really good and favorable, for I believe 7.99 without meat with the hamburger meat added for 1.99.
Live out of state bands every Fri-Sunday. Nice place to go hang out and enjoy some really good out of state live bands.

Read moreWe came on a casual Sunday afternoon. The staff was friendly and attentive. My boyfriend ordered the not so famous green chile smash burger, which he said was absolutely delicious! I ordered the nachos without meat (I'm vegetarian) it was ok. The cheese was tasty, oddly lots of lettuce, but just a small dollop of guacamole. So I asked for more which was $1.50 extra. The guac was super spicy, so with that and the cheese my nose ran the whole time! 😅 I wondered if they had pickled jalapenos but didn't want to ask. Too bad they aren't part of nachos. I think it would improve the meal.
The place itself is huge and very nice. Super clean bathrooms and nice looking. It seems to be dog friendly as well! I bet this is the place to be during their events and musical shows. It's a bit out of the way, but definitely worth checking out! The drive from Cruces is beautiful anyway, so well...
