My God(ess) I love this place! Good spot for fruit, veggies and people watching. I always visit Polo's Taqueria for an early lunch (another one of my fave spots in a fave spot). Families, and lots of vendors. Frequently there's a bird-man selling canaries, parakeets, lovebirds, doves, parrots, and fancy poultry + cages etc. at great prices. How do you know you're getting authentic Mexican food? You have to travel a little and it comes from places that look like this. It's like a swap meet but the main focus here is food. Place is lined with good stalls up and down. I suggest walk around a little first, they have a good variety, harnesses, barbecue chicken, tripitas, cabeza, lengua, seafood, ceviche. Upon my first visit I was surprised to find that about 1/4 of the vendors, are food vendors! There are a variety of foods to choose from, mostly Mexican, not all good. Choose wisely! The merchandise sellers are usually up for bargaining/ haggling and I've gotten some nice deals on sweet man-toys.
