This past Saturday me and my dad went to homers gumbo and it was our first time there and everything was great except for the bathroom it was not very wheelchair friendly. Once i got into the bathroom i couldn’t get very close to the toilet because of the wall which was to close to the stool for me to maneuver my wheelchair so I’m glad it was a unisex bathroom because I had to have my dad come help me get my manual chair turned sideways to get to the toilet. Then once I was done using the stool I had to call him back into the bathroom to help me get my pants up because I had no grab bar to hang onto to where I could pull my pants up. Read moreWhat a great find in Cañon City! Visiting from Texas, and we felt right at home with a complete cajun menu. We started by sharing a boudin ball with cilantro lime cream sauce and a mustard sauce. Outstanding. The boudin ball was so large, it was thr perfect sharable. My wife and I both had the seafood platter, and weren't disappointed inshareable. The shrimp and catfish were both fried perfectly, and came with a variety of dipping sauces. The spicy remoulade and house-made tartar sauces were our favorites. Their 'sides' would be features on any other menu. The sausage/chicken gumbo and jambalaya were outstanding! The staff were super-friendly! Marcus and Kelli were genuine and made us feel like they had known us fpr years from the moment we walked in.
Can't wait to go back and try a bunch of the other things...
Read moreHomer's Gumbo Pot is a Cajun culinary gem, right on the 115 Hwy. It's a little place, with big "Bon Ton" ambiance, and delicious, fresh made, Cajun food. The best Boudin Balls I've ever had, fried right on the outside, with savory tender sausage and rice on the inside. Shrimp Po'boy to die for, (and that "Oh-lawd" sauce is no joke), delicious, fresh, and huge! I haven't dug into my Muffuletta yet, but I have no doubt that it will be as delicious as the rest of their food. Between the food, the ambiance, and the friendly folks, Homer's Gumbo Pot is a must, for authentic, delicious Cajun food. Stop in! You won't be...
