I took myself on a little road trip recently and stopped at the Orehouse Hilltop Tavern for dinner before heading home. Would I call this place a dive? I’m not sure. It’s on the darker side, perhaps to match he mining decor, but it does have brighter outdoor seating, too. Go where you’re most comfortable. I decided on the Blazing BLT and a Hard Cranberry Lemonade. Since they were out of cole slaw, I opted for the onion rings. Simply put, that was probably the best BLT I’ve ever had. It had plenty of crunchy bacon, and the jalapenos added a little kick to the flavorful spices in the sauce. Even the onion rings were very good! Not every place has good onion rings. The waitress was pleasant but only checked on me once and toward the end of my visit. She’d earn more in tips by interacting with the guests more often, but that’s another conversation for another time. If you find yourself hungry in Oracle, Arizona, stop by the Orehouse Hilltop Tavern. It’s worth a visit.

What a great find! I led a group ride down to the Orehouse Hilltop Tavern with nearly 30 people and everyone walked out of there vowing to return. 1st-It is a truly cool place with great atmosphere (lot's of unique metal sculpture and decorations). 2nd - The menu while simple, contains some really top-notch dining options (Bun Burner sandwich and the taco special were exceptional). The staff was super friendly and efficient and the Oracle locals were friendly and helpful as well. Finally, the owner was extremely gracious and accommodating. He actually called me earlier in the week to let me know they could handle our large group and not to worry; I lead a lot of big group rides and very few owners have ever called me to say "it's handled!". Bottom line, we will be back again (and again, and again) to this unique little jewel in Oracle!

I was directed here by my travel agent Gina, although I already knew of the place due to previous patrons. I did not know what to expect walking in the door. On the outside it appeared tiny and I wasn't really sure this was the place I had heard talked about and seen in live video. The interior was clean but rustic. Made me think that this is what happens when a nuclear era cafe gets in a fight with a biker bar. The results are definitely worth seeing. The place has a vibe that is unique and all it's own.

I arrived at lunch time hungry and hopeful. First I ordered myself a glass of bourbon, in a chilled glass with water on the side. Then on to the menu. Quickly figuring out that my burger could have Jalepeno Bacon it was a done deal. I didnt want to stop there though I was 1,500 miles from home so I ordered a 'Short Bus Sampler' with Mozzarella Sticks, Onion rings, Fried Pickles and Fried Cheese Curds.

The bar tender (*) engaged me in a conversation since she could tell by both my southern draw and the way I dress apparently that I wasn't from 'around here' time went by really quickly from then till the point when my food showed up.

I had high hopes for the food but got much more than I bargained for. The Jalepeno Bacon turned an otherwise 'Ok' burger into a flavor beast. I had eaten half the burger before I realized I should probably try the other fair before filling up on this golden sample bacon. The onion rings were pretty standard, same for the mozzarella sticks. The pickes were really good but the star of the show was the cheese curds. Where I'm from this is just fried cheese, not here. The cheese curds here are Jalepeno Cheese giving them just enough of a kick and flavor profile change to make them really stand out. They were the one thing I managed to finish all of (besides my drinks of course)

I then sat there listening to some of my classic rock favorites on the jukebox which i didnt even have to get up to do because an old friend had shown me how to do it from my phone ages ago. Five triple bourbons and a bit over 2 hours later I was day drunk and called my 2 friends in tuscon to come get my day drunk self and my car and it was off to mount lemon.

The next time I'm in town I plan on stopping here again, and of course I have to come back because the A-holes back home haven't figured out that Jalepeno Bacon is a thing yet. See you around Ore House and that nice...

Orehouse Hilltop Tavern is a cozy and charming spot that offers a laid-back atmosphere perfect for a casual night out. Located on a scenic hilltop, the tavern boasts beautiful views, especially at sunset, making it a great place to unwind after a long day. The rustic, cabin-like decor adds to its warm and welcoming feel.

The menu focuses on classic pub fare with a few twists. Their burgers are hearty and flavorful, cooked to perfection, and served with crispy fries. The selection of craft beers is impressive, featuring local brews alongside popular favorites. If you're a fan of wings, theirs are a must-try—tangy, spicy, and well-cooked.

Service is friendly and efficient, with staff members attentive but not overbearing. The atmosphere tends to be relaxed, with a good mix of regulars and newcomers. The tavern also hosts live music on weekends, adding to the lively but unpretentious vibe.

While parking can be a bit tricky on busy nights, the experience overall is worth it. Orehouse Hilltop Tavern offers a perfect blend of great food, drinks, and a comfortable setting, making it a top choice for anyone looking for a local spot to enjoy a...

UPDATE: Another amazing night at Ore House. This place had a great staff, inside seating outside seating, we were the band tonight and the staff was just wonderful as always, food came fast and hot and the people got down and enjoyed the music as much as we enjoyed playing. Don't hesitate, you gotta come by this place it's pretty great, consistent every time.

UPDATE: Recently changed ownership, the service and hospitality was nothing short of stellar! The whole family was there, very professional, super friendly, nothing but smiles when they greet and spoke to you, I can go on! Chicken strips were still delicious! Go check this place out, they have awesome outdoor seating and live music.

Old: This place was a diamond in the rough! Great outdoor seating. Plenty of room for dancing to the live music. The bartenders and staff were so kind and the people there are fun and have a good clean fun time! Great place to be if ever you are in Oracle. Also! The chicken strips and fries here are...
