KC's Cabin — Restaurant in Fox Lake

On October 13, 2019, around 1040am I had arrived at this establishment with a group consisting of 5 friends. They were busy and I was told there would be a 10 - 15min wait. I was cool with that. The waitress/bartender then asked 5mins later if my group would like to sit at a table that would be a little crowded and sat about three people and when another table was available that sat more people they would move us but at least we would be able to order they said. I was like no thank you we can wait. KC's staff then had two tables open 10mins later and put them together to accommodate my group.

When we sat down a gentleman that I later found out was the owner took our drink orders. There was a soda, beer, hot tea, water, and a Bloody Mary ordered. The Bloody Mary and the beer arrived first and we never received the other three drinks. We waited for them and eventually had to ask the waitress that came by to take care of another table for the three drinks. Her response wasn't sorry but rather I wasn't told by the owner. She asked what the other drinks were and they finally arrived.

We were given a breakfast menu only cuz that is what they were serving at the moment until 11AM. The time was 11:02am and 2 people in my group asked for a lunch/dinner menu and the waitress said breakfast was all they were serving. Then 5mins later someone from another table had ordered Onion Rings and the waitress brought it to our table even though we never ordered. That dumbfounded us since we were told they were serving breakfast only even though it was after 11am.

I later overheard the own speaking to another table and he told them the drink specials. One of the specials was a $6 Bloody Mary with a beer chaser. I had the Bloody Mary but never received the beer chaser. I once again had to get the attention of a waitress and told her I never received my beer chaser with my Bloody Mary and the waitress was like okay. I was halfway done with my drink before I received the beer chaser.

The last two issues were the water I asked for after I finished my first drink had a long hair in it that was hanging out of the glass. then we told them that our group wanted separate checks and they couldn't get that right. They brought one single check and had to ask us what each person ordered.

Everyone after being forced to only get breakfast was disappointed because they wanted lunch. While we were there even after we had to get breakfast tons of other tables were able to get lunch, even though it was after 11am when we ordered. They also didn't care for the service, but also said that the breakfast they had was good. The atmosphere was great and they had a female solo singer performing. She mostly did cover songs. My group never caught her name but I would have to say she was great and sang...

July 23, 2022 went here after the Savage Race with a group. However were the first out of group of tables to get there. We got there approximately 1:45pm. The place was quite busy on the outside and not as busy on the inside. This is our first time going there but we have done the Savage Race numerous times. The place was not short staffed as far as servers go. We placed our order the FIRST table out of 4 to place our order. Others were still arriving in the group. I have years of experience as a server/waitress/dining room manager myself. THE PROPER SMART WAY TO PUT IN ORDERS IS BY TABLE 1 ACCORDINGLY WITH THE WAY YOU TOOK THE ORDER AT 4:05 I STILL DID NOT HAVE BY WIDOW BURGER AND THE LAST TABLE INOUR GROUP TO ARRIVE THE ENTIRE TABLE HAD THEIR FOOD ORDER THE 3RD TABLE TO ARRIVE HAD ASLO ALL HAD THEIR FOOD AND ATE AND LEFT. MEANWHILE I AM WAITING I FIND OUR WAITRESS ON THE WAY TO THE BATHROOM AND TOLD HER IF MY WIDOW BURGER WAS NOT ALREADY MADE THEN JUST CANCEL IT. I NEEDED TO LEAVE. SHE THEN BRINGS MY SPOUSE THE BILL WITH A CHARGE FOR BOTH BURGERS ON IT....AND STILL NO BURGER OF MINE HE RECIEVED HIS AT ABOUT 3:45PM. MY SPOUSE SAID TO HER PLEASE TAKE THE BURGER OFF. SHE SAID " I HAVE NO CONTROL THE KITCHEN"!!! IN SHOCK I SAID 'I NEVER ASKED YOU TO CONTROL THE KITCHEN! EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THE...

Absolutely terrible service from the bartender at this place. We came in to watch the game, as did several others, and she immediately started complaining about having it on. Instead of just doing her job and letting customers enjoy the atmosphere. Then, with a straight face, she actually asked if we even needed the volume on—while the whole bar was clearly watching the game.

On top of that, she clearly catered only to her one regular guy (he wasn’t a fan of the teams playing) , making everyone else feel unwelcome. Several people picked up on her rude attitude and ended up leaving. By the end, we were literally the last ones still trying to watch, and what does she do? She mutes the game completely and puts music on instead just to please her guy.

Who goes to a sports bar to have the bartender shut down the game people came in to watch? Extremely rude, unprofessional, and honestly ruined the entire experience. If you want to actually enjoy sports, do yourself a favor and go...
