Toll Booth Tavern — Restaurant in Francestown

It makes me sad to give 2 stars, but unfortunately consistently for the last couple of months my visits have not been up to par. 3+ take out order wrong every time at least one if not all of the order is wrong. They do remake it which is great but I shouldn't have to drive back o a place every single time I order out. This last time was it for me. Placed my order the waitress read it back everything was correct. I get home ones wrong I then called they gladly remade it. I hadn't even had a chance to try mine and when I finally got home with the correct order I realized mine was wrong too but it was late and I wasn't going to bother calling again. I realized it happened so often when the bartender goes isn't this like the 3rd time This has happened to you. I said yep only me and laughed it off. But the thing is i know for a fact its not he waitresses because they are reading the orders back to me so what exactly is happening? Either way I will be finding a new place to eat out. One time is fine but over 3 times in a row and I should add it is only when I'm ordering on Mondays. But on a side note the food is amazing and the wait staff is so sweet and kind. it's just a shame they can't get orders...

This used to be my wife and I's favorite place to eat. We used to live in Bennington and came here alot.

On a whim I decided to take us back here 3 years later and we were both ended up extremely disappointed.

Our favorite appetizer used to be the calamari. The calamari we received today for 8.99 was an extremely small portion. We felt like we were just eating breading. There was very little actual calamari on our plate.

My wife ordered the surf and turf salad for 16.99. She ended up getting a side salad portion with 3 small / thin steak tips and 3 small pieces of shrimp. Probably 4 oz of actual protein in the salad.

I got the NEW turkey dinner. The menu said thick pieces of turkey. I got very thin, hard, over cooked turkey. They also way over salted my broccoli. I couldn't even eat it. It was as salted as McDonald's french fries..no lie.

I'm not one to write reviews like this...but I'm just extremely disappointed that we came all the way back here for this. No idea what happened to this place in the past 3 years, but it's not what we used to experience...that's for sure. Maybe we were just unlucky and the rest of the food is...

Great atmosphere, there’s always seating we’ve never waited to get in ever. Big menu with many great options. Great kids menu. This time we got the soft baked pretzels with cheese sauce and it was incredible as always, we get it every time. Kids had baked haddock nuggets and fries and spaghetti, both looked very good. I had one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, The black and blue burger, I highly recommend it. The burger was cooked to perfection medium rare, the bun was excellent and the aioli was awesome on it. I added a couple of my onion rings on it and that was very good. Wife got the salmon Caesar salad and it looked great. Great local beer options on tap. Only complaint was they forgot my French onion soup but they had a big top come in and got slammed, which was fine because I had plenty to eat I was stuffed.
