I was a covid patient at mount nittany hospital on Christmas day, 2022 and stayed 5 days. I wanted to thank my caregivers there with ashers candy. I called lewistown ashers store and a sweet lady named Val helped me. With a raspy weak voice I gave her a detailed order: 8 one pound boxes of chocolate coveted pretzels and 8 one pound boxes of peanut butter melt aways. The Emergency Room was to get one box of each for the 7 am-7pm nurses and the same order (1 box each) for 7 pm-7am ER nurses and the same instructions for 2nd floor nurses. I recited a note I asked her to put with each box. She didn't just put a little piece of plain paper on the beautifully wrapped gifts...she used lovely Christmas cards in envelopes and labeled them carefully. The gifts were wrapped and tied with a bow and looked AMAZING! It made me proud to give those gifts to the nurse who took me to the car. She said," wow! We are use to getting donut holes or bags of candy from Wal-Mart but not anything like THIS!" She happily went to deliver them. Val from.lewistown Ashers not only followed .my wishes...she went over and above my expectations. I hope she gets recognized for her efforts. I called and thanked her...but I want someone higher up the ladder to know, you have a great employee there. It's one thing to have a good product but if the customer service doesn't match the quality of the product...you don't get repeat orders...I will remember this and do it again if needed. Asher’s chocolates has been in business since 1892. This makes them one of the oldest running chocolate businesses in the country. Asher’s is still considered a family run business. They take a lot of pride in their products. The raw cocoa beans are made and processed at a plant not too far away, and the liquid chocolate is transported on a truck similar in size to a fuel tank truck to the production factory here in Souderton, PA. Very detailed and meticulous care is followed. From aseptic techniques to make sure all machines are impeccably clean to strict quality control measures to ensure consistency in the quality of each product. All shipments are sent out from the plant, all over the country. Careful supply chain management is followed to make sure every batch is freshly made before shipping. Asher’s has a great reputation for quality chocolates. Very hard to compare to others on the market. You will always find Asher’s at department stores and specialty confectioners. I personally love this brand, and I totally recommend you try some. I love the chocolate...

I have shopped with Asher's for 10 years or so. Their people are courteous, polite, knowledgeable and want to help in any way they can. Their chocolates appear in many commercial candy stores but often their name is not advertised -- you just know from the exquisite taste and the appearance (of course you can confirm with the store management). So there may be the convenience of local outlets for Asher's chocolates but you won't have the pleasure of working with Asher's staff.

In each of the several orders that I have placed, the candies arrive in a timely manner and in perfect condition. In the warmer months, the candies are protected by shipping in dry ice and coolers. Orders may be placed online or by calling one of Asher's retail stores. The retail stores have helped me find candies that I can't find or are not available online and...

Visited today for the first time. the factory tour is by appointment only so make a reservation before your visit. However, if you don't have a reservation, you can see one of the actual factory production lines by visiting the candy store right around the corner from the main entrance to the factory. You can see the double dipping of the candy center and the two cooling tunnels the conveyor belts travel through. At the end of the line are those collecting and packaging the chocolates just like Lucy and Ethel. (Let's see who gets that one!) The candy store is worth the visit alone with chocolate covered pretzels, potato chips and graham crackers. Make your own box mixed with all sorts of milk and dark chocolate candies with various centers. For those needing sugar free items, there is an abundance to choose from! Well worth a visit.

Asher's Chocolate Factory is a must do, must taste, must see! We spent a wonderful two hours here and the retail store alone is an experience! It has EVERYTHING you can imagine. I felt like I was in the Willy Wonka movie in this place! The smell was HEAVENLY!! the colors and candies were of every type, texture and size. They have individual homemade pieces in the glass cases up to large boxed bulk selections. I purchased a gigantic box of cherry cordial chocolates. We heard about the varieties of chocolates, the areas that Asher's provided their yummy delights to, and got to experience building our own homemade chocolate bars! the chocolates are insane!!! I couldn't decide which I loved better, the milk or dark choc! 5 stars to this family owned biz and our Philadelphia favorite chocolatiers!

Asher’s chocolate factory shoppe is always a MUST and highlight of any visit to PA. The prices are extremely reasonable especially if you go to the seconds racks of “hurt pretzels” that are a bit broken but equally delicious. We love the fact that they have an ample list of gluten free options! Oh the chocolate is so yummy and of high quality! Top favs are peanut butter smoothies which are gluten friendly and dark chocolate dipped pretzels. Such a beautiful shoppe filled with the prettiest affordable gifts for any occasion or holiday from token thank yous for a neighbor or gift exchange, gift basket fillers up to impressive boxed wrapped candies to impress a client or office staff memorably. Old-fashioned candy manufacturers are a rare treasure and Asher’s is worth a trip!
