Poppy's Coffee Co. — Restaurant in Franklin Township

Poppy's is a great little coffee shop and when I say little, I mean that literally. I loved everything about it except the lack of space inside. They provide a couple seating options, but there's just not much run to linger long. I did pull out my computer and got some work done but I didn't feel comfortable staying too long because seats are at a premium. Don't get me wrong, I love that they kept the old building and its charm, but they could quadruple their dining area and still be short. If you're looking to grab and run, it's perfect. I tried a Hummel's special and although the coffee flavor is bold, I liked it more than most strong coffees. I prefer smooth and gentle coffee flavor but as strong as it was for me, I would order it again. The restroom is nicely done and the ramp makes it wheelchair accessible. This was my first experience at Poppy’s I had always drive past it, so I finally stopped. The place was so cute, they support other local businesses and had a great selection of many things. The candle coffee mugs were so cute from a local pottery shop. They had a great selection of treats besides coffee. The menu was confusing to read, but I ordered my drink and a whoppie pie it was all amazing! The coffee was a perfect balance of all the flavors. Never had an expresso that delicious. I had also tried my boyfriend’s drink and it was also very very good. The drinks even had a nice surprise of sweet inspirational quotes. So cute! Poppy’s Coffee is such a great little spot—kind of in the middle of nowhere off the New Berlin Highway outside of Middleburg, but totally worth finding.

It’s super cute inside, really clean, and has a nice chill vibe. The coffee is fantastic—like, surprisingly good for a place that feels this tucked away. You can tell they actually care about what they’re doing.

The people are friendly too, just nice folks who make you feel welcome without trying too hard. Definitely one of those places you’re glad you stumbled across. I’d go out of my way to stop...
