So someone mentioned they were getting coffee from LampLighter.😳😳 I said WHAT!? where's that? and how's the coffee? I googled the place and went for a visit the following week. When I first walked in the ATMOSPHERE was awesome. Nicely decorated and soft music playing in the background. Only one other person was seated in the rear area having coffee. NICE SIZE menu to order from at the register. MANY food options....I sat in disbelief just taking it all in. Doesn't even seem like you're in Franklin while inside that place. (Well at least that's the feeling I got). Nice dining area nice atmosphere friendly employees. Reasonably priced food items and COFFEE. LATTE..MACCHIATO. CAFE AU LATE.. CAPPUCCINO..and a LAMPUCCINO..and some other coffee items....And the food and (coffee) macchiato was hot when I got it. the scrambled eggs could've been better (fluffier). But was still good. I had an everyday southern breakfast. The breakfast plate Toast, with strawberry jelly (wheat toast at that... and I was happy they gave me wheat 😁) scrambled eggs, ham, and grits. Just regular home cooked food and coffee 😁😁. Just like u were at home. Peacefully🥰....A steady flow of customers came and went while I sat eating. Even called my brother to tell him about the place. I'll bringing my mother here for coffee & breakfast on my next trip back....
Made our way out to Lamp Lighter today as we finish up our vacation back here in my home state, Louisiana. Being restaurant owners ourselves, we are always on the look out for great places to visit that have "it". Lamp Lighter is just such a place. Our background in food service makes us unintentionally observant of everything restaurant related. We notice, immediately, that the bistro is not only neat and clean, but that it was laid out with purpose and intention. The vision and concept are cohesive and make sense. Nothing here is just thrown together but, instead, put together in a way to communicate a love for what makes this community unique. Little touches all throughout meant to communicate warmth and comfort. The owner clearly understands the need for a community gathering place in this area and she delivers with a very classy establishment. The old time music finishes off the back-in-the-day feel. Friendly employees and food that is prepared with care and of high quality makes this place a win, win, win! We wish this place much success as it seeks to be a bright spot in what appears to be a town coming back to life!!! We...
Read moreThis summer, I spent each Saturday here at The Lamp Lighter. My friend played the piano so it was a really wonderful late afternoon time for my friends and me. This is one of my favorite places in my hometown of Franklin, La. The Wiltz' who are the owners have done a tremendous job of creating a fun and positive atmosphere for everyone. There are bands that began playing after the evening piano playing. Since these played outside, there was a good crowd and fun to mingle with old friends. This Coffee House and Bistro served a number of kinds of coffee as well as wine and mixed drinks. Also, there are pastries. The Beignets are delicious as are all the pastry but Beignets and their coffee was my favorite since I have only had it in New Orleans! The food is amazing. I usually ordered the soups which often came with a delicious bread. I plan to spend time again there this summer when I return. I look forward to this wonderful meeting place to see old friends and enjoy the entertainment which by the way is varied. I do believe a little something...
