Bad experience. I hope it was unique. The food was ok but with what happened not nearly good enough. I ordered a shrimp scampi and a child's portion of gnocchi with a meatball. I ordered it on Uber eats. Total came to about $27 plus tax tip and delivery fee. $34 before tip. The first order was cancelled and all I heard was it was cancelled because the customer didn't want to pay the higher rate. Didn't know what that meant as I hadn't done anything or heard anything until after. So I tried again and again it was cancelled again. Store called and said Uber cancelled it and said I didn't want to pay. I said I want to get my order not not pay. The Uber driver was nice enough to deliver it anyway if I just paid over the phone. So I gave the guy my card number and figured I'd just tip the driver when the food was delivered. Turns out the store had jacked their prices on the limited holiday menu they were using. The price went to almost double. Very bad experience today. The scampi was just ok, the gnocchi was tough. The vodka sauce and meatball were excellent. The amounts were plentiful. Felt bad for the first driver as he went there helped me straighten out the order because what I ordered at first wasn't on the holiday menu, then Uber cancelled it because the store was trying to charge the higher rate then what was on the Uber app. That's a no no. I've been there before and it's a nice place with what I thought was good food....
Read moreSo I'm sure that reading all these 5 star reviews might make you suspicious, I know I was. I've lived in a small town before where "great food" to the locals was actually just mediocre to the rest of the world. But since I started dating an Italian from Long Island I've gone to Las Angeles, Portland OR, Boston, NYC, and had genuine homemade Italian family dinners. So you'd better believe me when I say, Villa Capri ranks number two on my list for Italian dining, second only to my girlfriend's family's cooking. The common points others have made are true. The portions are large, and I overheard the waitress telling someone that they really want it to be enough food for two meals. The wait staff was friendlier there than any other place I've been, including my own grandmother's kitchen on my birthday 😂. Seriously, we got out to the car and had forgotten our leftovers and our waitress ran it out to us. My god I could've hugged her. The food was bomb. It's hard for me to eat Italian because I'm mildly lactose intolerant and don't do well with carb heavy meals, but the baked salmon dish I got was incredible. My girlfriend got gnocchi in vodka sauce and loved it, and she's veeeerrrryyy particular about her food. When dessert came along she got a raspberry tiramisu and I ordered the lemon pie gelato (honestly I may go back just for the gelato). So yeah, if you're considering going to Villa...
Read moreTo start off I will say the waitress was alone tonight which we were fully prepared to wait as long as needed to get waited on. We arrived shortly after 630, we followed a couple in and both tables were seated. The waitress was overwhelmed as would anyone. Around 7 a third party had come in and immediately grabbed an order pad and wrote down their own order apparently and took it to the kitchen. The waitress then goes over and we over heard the lady say she used to work there. The waitress proceeded to serve them drinks and starter salads. At this point it was 7:10 and we hadn't even gotten our drinks nor ordered our food. The waitress then comes out with bread for the 3rd party that came in after the couple before us and us (both of which hadn't been waited on at all.) Then the 3rd party had the audacity to ask for garlic bread instead of regular bread to which the waitress then disappeared in the back once again. At that point we left. 45 mins total waiting not to even been given drinks when the table after us was almost already served dinner. My brother was home from the navy and that was supposed to be our last supper as a family for im sure a long long time. The amount of disrespect was unbelievable and can't say I'll ever return to...
