Can’t get a pick up order right” Pending review
Chris M (6 reviews) Stillwater, New Jersey I have been living in the area for 17 years. I have stopped at the Fredon deli to pick up food for a family of four for the entire duration of 17 years. Like 3 times per week we ordered Fredon deli. Sometimes twice a day. Over the last two years pick up orders have been horrible. The food is great when it’s right. Mrs Kathy always gets it right on her side. I don’t see Chris the owner around very much anymore. He ran a tight ship. The way a deli diner should be. I call to order simple things like a plain well done cheese burger. Sounds easy right, when I get it home it’s rare with lettuce tomato onion and no cheese. Disco fries with mozzarella and brown gravy as requested multiple times, we get yellow American. Again we requested mozzarella multiple times. Taylor ham and cheese plain, we get Taylor ham egg and cheese. Three times we requested no egg. Five minutes later girl was ringing me up for Taylor egg and cheese. Dumbfounded when I reminded her I said no egg three times. The list goes on and on with these careless mistakes in simply taking a food order. Then when I asked to speak with George, I was told he was too busy to take my call. No accountability exist at Fredon Deli. When Chris was there, people said he was tough to work for, but I saw a flawless method and my food was always right. Now George hides in the back because he’s not accountable for his staff. I have spent my last dollar at the Fredon deli due to incompetent staff. It’s all kids and rarely do you get one that actually cares about their job. I can’t be the only one this happens to. Read moreI really like their food however… I walked in and ordered a large cheese pizza. Man said 15 min, I retorted ,”15 minutes?” He said yes. It was 5:15. I set a timer on my phone, walked around outside, came in 15 minutes later. I stood at least 10ft from the counter and looked at my phone for a moment when the man said my pizza was ready. Walked to the counter to pay. Girl asked if I called it in and I said no, I walked over and ordered it. She didn’t seem to understand that and asked me again. She said the slip said it was a phone in. She went to speak to the man making the pizza and told me that it was someone else’s and asked if I wanted to order one. I said I already waited 15 minutes for one, why would I want to wait another 15 min! I had my child and Mother in the car and there were people behind me so I left. I am writing because I hope the deli will fix this communication problem and get a NAME from whomever placed an order so there is no confusion. Read moreI grew up in Fredon and the subs, bagels, & hot food at this deli has always been consistently delicious. Now I’m grown and moved out of state, but currently visiting for Christmas, and I picked up an Italian sub today - holy smokes was it tasty. I was glad to see that they’ve renovated in the past year, and I hope that means business is booming. We’re so lucky to have a good food spot here in Fredon. The staff are always friendly and the coffee’s good. They’re always in stock with convenience essentials (medicine, personal care, canned foods, chips/soda, eggs/milk/butter, cold drinks, etc.) They also added a pizza spot inside which I’m excited to try.
