It is very easy to see why 1833 has and continues to maintain a perfect five-star rating. As a small business owner who prides myself on my ratings as well, This is the very first thing that caught my attention and attracted me to drive all the way out here from Monroeville! I'm so happy I did. 1833 Coffee is a gem! From the moment you step inside, you can feel the warmth and care they put into everything, from their ambiance to their service. The coffee is exceptional—crafted with precision and served with genuine friendliness.
Their menu is thoughtful, offering a variety of unique options that cater to both coffee purists and those who enjoy creative specialty drinks. I particularly loved how smooth and flavorful their espresso was—it’s clear they take pride in sourcing high-quality beans. My favorite we the eggnog chai. The owner was so friendly and even shared her secret ingredient with me!
The atmosphere is cozy yet modern, making it a great spot to relax, catch up with friends, or even get some work done. You can tell they’ve thought about every detail to make customers feel welcome.
If you’re in Pittsburgh and looking for a local coffee shop that stands out and is absolutely worth the drive, 1833 Coffee is definitely worth a visit. They’ve created something truly special, and I can’t wait to come back! I regret not buying thier beans but it just means I have to go...
Read moreIf you need a place to grab a quick cup of your daily delight, be it coffee, matcha, tea, or lotus drinks, this is your place. But you need a place to sit with your drink and relax? This is your place.
You need to do some computer work away from home or the office? This is your place. You can get something to eat should your stay turn out longer than you expected.
There are also some items to purchase to carry over the vibe to home, be it 1833 merch or some tea or unique note cards or even a plant! On a nice day, you MUST sit outside and enjoy people-watching and, again, the gorgeous plants that surround you. Honestly, every time I walk up to 1833, I feel like I'm looking at a quaint cafe in a small European town. Nothing but good, positive enthusiasm...
Read moreThe atmosphere was alright - it’s probably as “urban chic” as this run down river town will ever see. The coffee’s alright. During my first visit, I asked the girl behind the counter if the coffee is fair trade and was met with a hopelessly vacant look.
My second experience was worse. I asked for a brewed loose tea and the girl used enough to brew three pots. River water might have been preferable.
One of two things about this place MUST be true: 1) The owners and staff have no clue when it comes to the art of coffee and teas. 2) The locals accept the trash served here because they’re used to mediocrity. They’d be better served by a Dunkin than a group of bored housewives trying to be relevant in an...
