I had an absolutely awful experience at the bowling alley last night, and I feel compelled to share it. First off, the place was in poor condition, but the real issue came from the behavior of the owner and her husband.
The owner was downright disrespectful, particularly toward the children who were there. She seemed completely uninterested in providing a welcoming or family-friendly atmosphere, and her attitude was off-putting. Her actions were unprofessional and frankly, inappropriate for a business thatâs supposed to be for the community.
To make matters worse, her husband was visibly drinking on the job. It was clear he was intoxicated while working, which is completely unacceptable in any workplace, especially one where families and children are present. This only added to the uncomfortable vibe at the alley.
But the most bizarre part was when the owner began acting strangely toward my group of friends. She walked up to us, laughing in a very awkward and unsettling way, invading our personal space and making everyone feel uncomfortable. It honestly felt like she was trying too hard to get attention, and her actions just didn't sit right with any of us.
I even recorded a video of the entire situation to capture the bizarre behavior, and when the staff saw it, they immediately got worried and started acting defensive. It was clear they knew their actions were inappropriate.
I wouldnât recommend this place to anyone, especially families. The lack of professionalism, the ownerâs rude behavior, and the fact that the staff is drinking on the job make it an awful experience. I wonât be coming back, and I strongly urge others to avoid this place as well. Itâs a shame because the concept of a local bowling alley could be great, but the way itâs run here is just terrible. Well knowing this comment wonât stay up long I will be coming on here everyday just to be that person to get the word around about how much of a disappointment and disaster this place brings along with the discomfort especially when I thought her husband was gonna put his hands on me. I also did post the video on a TikTok and itâs already going viral so comment if you want the...
Read moreMoved to town about a year ago, this is the only close bowling alley. I thought Iâd give it a try. First I will say their Facebook page really needs some updating. On the page it says closed Saturdays and Sundays. Last post was from 2019. This bowling alley is very outdated and has a musty smell. Only 3 lanes have bumpers which is unfortunate, as other bowling alleys all the lanes can be converted. First time I came in was on a Thursday, they stated we couldnât bowl due to a league. Next time I came in was on a Saturday, since there was no available bumpers I paid for a lane anyways and waited for other to leave so my 6 year old nephew could actually play. After we got our bumper lane and ordered food, the only worker there then stated that a bowling league was coming in any moment. Their dog, kept coming up to us while eating waiting to see if we would give him food (I have 3 dogs and donât allow my dogs to beg). Might I add, I spent $5 to play music that was then turned off in the bowling area and only played quietly in the bar area. So that was a waste (he knew this as I got the change from him to put in it). At this point I felt rushed to eat our food and bowl fast as they were setting up for the leagues to come in. On the walls it does show leagues Monday's and Thursdayâs. Nothing about Saturdayâs. Food was mediocre, âsoftâ pretzel was tough (and came after our other food, at this point it was just us two that ordered food). Also had to keep resetting the lane as it didnât register to pick up the knocked pins. Iâve been to this bowling alley twice. Have given then about $200 total of my money. Will definitely drive the extra miles to go elsewhere. The Mayvillians may love this place but to the new people in town, go elsewhere. Transparency isnât their strong suit. I will not even discuss their very old shoes (my nephews size 1 were coming apart in the front). Only pro is it...
