Anita's — Restaurant in Fremont

Wanted to try something different than the usual stuff here. Was VERY disappointed!! They servers/ bus people all looked like teenagers, didn't see a single adult looking person except customers. Tables of multiple people were getting one or two orders at a time. Now there's my order. Ordered a T-Bone, and 1st time it was literally cooked rare, like just browned on outside rare & cold. Send it back and it gets brought back out overcooked. I ordered it medium & it came out the 2nd time well done. The "salad" was some shredded lettuce, 1 slice of a tomato, 4 pieces of cucumber, & a attempted fancy cut radish. Oh, and after the steak came out the 2nd time I had to ask if they had steak knives cause all I had on the table was a butter knife. Wife orders Fajitas & they bring out her plate, then after few minutes we had to ask if she could get some tortillas. She also had 2 cups of "fountain" pop, literally no carbonation in it what so ever. 1st trip there, & definitely the last!! Wouldn't get even the one star but had to...

The food is amazing. The people are friendly. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars at the moment is because WE ARE IN A PANDEMIC. There are specific rules that should be followed in a restaurant to keep everyone safe. While one of the two counter girls was wearing a mask correctly, the other wore it on her chin while she touched everything. The cook was not wearing a mask while making the food. They had a bottle of hand sanitizer available but it was running low and nothing else was being sanitized while I was in there. Customers came and went and were not required to wear masks. There were no signs on the doors or walls letting people know to wear them. Nothing on the floor to let people know to keep 6ft apart. Last but not least, all the tables were available to be seated on in a small building. I know Fremont has no pandemic mandates in place but if you cared about your workers/customers, its common sense at this point to have all this...

I never have a complaint about their food. I always get great food. The only complaint I have and reason for my one star is because every time I dine in I never have a good experience. It is never consistent. One time I will get a bottle of water and be charged and the next time I won’t. The waitress never comes back to our table and asks if we need anything or to refill our cups. I am always having to continuously get up and go to the front desk to ask for a refill or a to go box only to see the waitress sitting in a chair on their phone on the other side of the wall where they can’t see any of their customers. Again never have a complaint about there food and they will continue to get my business, just won’t be continuing...
