This is a Kentucky Style of Barbecue so those bake beans are more on the more Savory Side of Life. Never had them like that before.

Walking into Maw n' Paw it looks like a a typical Barbecue Joint. The windows are tinted- don't be alarmed it's open if the open sign is lit. It's bigger than I expected so that was nice.

The menu is simple but with a good variety. They do Cater so that's a plus!

Hmm let's see. Oh yes! So upon entry I was greeted +++

And it's wasn't that quick recognition greeting it actually was a genuine greeting. Love that.

And b/c I wasn't familiar with their menu they allowed me to sample the meat. ++++

Listennnnn I love free things and you let me sample food- oooo I am sold. That's how I know they knew their food was on point! Whew lawd have mercy!! Sorry I'm getting excited all over again. Ok.. soooo

The Tri-tip was so so- I wasn't sold on that but that brisket and chicken though.. yes indeed!

So I ordered the 2 meats platter with an extra sausage link and baked beans. The meat I chose was the brisket and chicken.

Listennnnn that meat was seasoned and soft to perfection. You see when you don't need to add the barbecue sauce- dat' der is some good barbecue! (as we say back home)

The sausage link sliced up - through me for a curve but I was down with the new technique.

The only complaints I would have is that the tables should have been wiped down and that the bathroom sink could have been cleaner. The bathroom wasn't dirty but the sink need a little of "THE WORKS" If you catch my drift. Anyone that follows me knows I mention how the bathroom is from time to time. As I feel that says a lot about the establishment or any place really. The bathrooms and the kitchen are the 2 places that can contain the most bacteria where you spend the least time at but can get very sick if it's not cleaned properly.

But moving on... the manager was awesome his staff was awesome.

Would I recommend Ma n Paw- hell to the yeh! Would I drive 35 minutes out of the way to revisit?...

I normally don’t take pleasure to post an item or a food/ take out establishment, in this case I was totally dissatisfied and disappointed. The food quality was not pleasant to my taste buds. I guess I got there 1/2 hour later when they opened, I’m assuming, I was given the “leftovers” from previous day. A connoisseur of great ribs/ brisket, this order was given to me dry ( ribs/brisket). I can tell it was not “freshly”made. The coleslaw and beans, Horrible, I make it better. The interesting part about this, they don’t show you what has been ordered, they give you the bags, you pay, and enjoy your day! I reached out to the person at this establishment and shared my disappointment. Some of their reviews are not citing the truth. I was craving for brisket/ Ribs for the longest, I end up giving it to my furry animals as a treat. There goes my $30 bucks. … Update on this unpleasant experience, something good turn out well. I spoke with the Manager, explained my situation with the order, he had me come back and graciously provided some fresh ribs, Briskets, potato salad, Pilaf rice and a complementary Barbecue Sauce bottle. Thank you for listening and making the experience pleasant. My family enjoyed it and we’re...

On the east side of Clovis Avenue just north of Clinton and the Fresno Air Terminal, a beckoning outdoor smoker grill always intrigued me. With typically busy traffic and tight lanes, I never could get much visible feedback of what we have here.

Today, I had an appointment nearby and I had my lunch plans settled. I turned into the tight parking area, open to northbound lanes only, and squeezed my pickup into a slot. The MNPBBQ front was covered with posters or paint so I really didn't know what I was getting into.

Entering I found a good crowd seated and maybe 6 ahead of me in line to order. Always a good indicator even at Noon.

A full selection of BBQ meats, a couple side options, decent selection of soft drinks in bottles & cans. Also a side table having their signature BBQ sauces in at least 3 varieties of heat and flavor.

I had a regular chicken sandwich with a small potato salad side and a Squirt.

Seating is rudimentary but hey, it's a place for quick eating, or sharing an 8-foot picnic table with workmates.

I liked the chicken, sliced breast meat, on a french roll, with Medium BBQ sauce. Next time I'll try the brisket. Or ribs. Or...

I recently visited Maw n’ Paw BBQ, hoping for a good homestyle BBQ meal but unfortunately, I left disappointed. I ordered a plate with two sides and two meats: potato salad, rice pilaf, brisket, and tri-tip, along with a roll on the side. The potato salad was advertised as homemade, but it tasted very generic like something bulk-produced rather than made fresh in-house. The rice pilaf was bland and mushy, lacking any real flavor. To top it off, the roll was just a cheap sesame hot dog bun sliced up and served plain, which felt like an afterthought. The meats didn’t fare much better. The brisket, which should be a star at any BBQ joint, was shredded and resembled pulled pork. It was bland and lacked the rich, smoky flavor you’d expect. The tri-tip was the best part of the meal, but even that was just okay. It was sliced thinly, spiraled for some reason, and was a bit on the dry side. All in all, the food didn’t live up to expectations, and with so many other BBQ options in the area, I don’t think I’ll be back. There are definitely better places to enjoy a good BBQ meal nearby.

I will not be back, but I am not their target audience. Food tastes great. That's not the problem. The atmosphere is much like being in an automotive shop with tons of red and yellow bold signs everywhere. Again, I'm a progressive young-ish woman and I assume I am not who they are marketing to. I assume most dudes and bros like the environment just fine. The prices are pretty reasonable too. My biggest problem was that I am an environmentalist, and while I tried to find the one thing on the menu that was meatless (baked potato), it still comes with meat AND even the baked beans have what looks like pork. The nail in the coffin for me was the fact that all of their dishware is Styrofoam and plastic. I just can't in good conscience go back. Everyone was friendly and I like the entrepreneurial spirit. I want to see people like that succeed. I just wish they were making the world a better place in their business model. If they offered a pulled jackfruit and reusable dishware, I'd shout praise.

The food was excellent, the portions were massive, and the prices were very cheap. The service was great as well, I will visit again the next time I'm in Fresno. I was encouraged to go by the middle-aged progressive women's review, which stated there were no vegetarian options at the BBQ Restaurant. It's refreshing to visit a place that doesn't pander to the vegan, gluten, trendy crowd. Just good old-fashioned barbecue. I would recommend anyone try it, and if you're brave enough, go for the NuclearQ sauce somehow or manages to melt your taste buds and taste delicious at the same time, quite the feat.
