I was really excited to try this place mostly based on the 4.7 rating based on reviews. However it significantly fell short in multiple ways. The first issue was customer service. When I walked in, I politely inquired which latte is the most popular as I often try specialty flavors at new cafes I visit. Unfortunately I was met with a response that felt dismissive and hurried and was not helpful at all. The woman behind the counter simply pointed to a menu and said “we have many flavors” to which I was so dumbfounded I didn’t even bother to ask again. I then inquired if the drinks written on the chalkboard were lattes to which she replied no and pointed back to the menu. At this point I’m the only customer in line so I’m taking a few seconds to look at what else is on the menu. As I’m weighing my options I’m shaking my head side to side to which the lady starts mocking my movements to get me to make a decision. I was kind of annoyed at this point so I decided to default to a Chai latte since there were less options to consider. I specifically requested oat milk as I’m lactose intolerant and was charged for it; only to have her make the drink with whole milk 🤦🏾♀️ Of course I can’t tell the difference until I actually start drinking it and start getting a horrible stomach ache. So I went back to her and asked if I requested oat milk so as not to sound accusatory that she messed up the drink (and my stomach 🥴). She then goes oh sorry I did put whole milk-I’ll remake it. Although it’s an honest mistake, she should be way more careful and aware of customer requests especially if we’re having to pay a premium for it. I paid $8 for that Chai including the milk substitution and syrup only to have my stomach ruined by a careless mistake. Even worse the drink itself is not good at all. It’s clearly concentrated and there’s more milk than chai which makes it watery and flavorless.
Overall the atmosphere of the place is great-nice and clean with good WiFi. However customer service (at least my experience) was sub par and the drink I had was not good at all especially for the...
Read moreI've been here a few times now, and I can hands-down say it's my favorite café in the Alvin/Friendswood/Webster area.
The first reason it's my favorite café is the one most important to me: The coffee shop's atmosphere. The staff here promotes and maintains a peaceful, quiet, study/work-friendly environment. You won't hear teenagers, kids, or friends meeting up for coffee to scream/laugh/yell at one another over the sound of some loud music - The owner puts on some soft jazz and piano, and everyone in the cafe (usually) has a mutual understanding of keeping the environment peaceful in respect to one another. This is the only coffee shop I've been to in years that actually promotes a peaceful environment, and that's something I've been needing for college and since I started high school .
Apart from the environment, the coffee is wonderful. The kind lady who made my drink each time has put in an extremely high amount of attention to detail and presentation into making lattes and other drinks - It's actually quite impressive how flavorful and beautiful the drinks she makes are.
The menu here is also vast - There are many pastries, macaroons, syrup flavors, styles of drink, and even some lunch items. All in all, if you're looking for a peaceful place to get some work done on a weekday - I cannot recommend this little shop more.. It makes places like summer moon and starbucks feel like high school cafeterias...
Read moreI love this place but had a bad experience today. I came in and sat down to do a work call while my husband ordered coffee. We had trash in our car from the previous day, a coffee cup and a bag that I had brought in to throw away, well there was no trash can so I left it sitting next to me on the table. While in the middle of a work call the owner walked up and started talking over me while I was in a meeting to tell me not to bring outside coffee into her store and that it was common sense…. One had you asked “ma’am did you bring in outside coffee” I could have responded and let you know that no indeed the cup was empty but you did not have a trash can available for me to throw it away. Two, it seems simple not to be rude to your customers by interrupting them while they are clearly on a business call.
Again, the coffee here is great and I usually have a great experience, but the way I was spoken to today was very unprofessional. I would have even accept just a “ma’am you can’t bring in outside coffee” again because I could have responded oh no ma’am it’s empty you just have no trash cans for me to throw it away I apologize.
It’s common sense was taking it a bit far, and interrupting someone on a meeting is so disrespectful. She could have waited until my call was over to...
