Will never come here again. First timer and stopped in to support local eats with about 7 people in our party. We got our drinks and the waitress disappeared for 20 mins, it was somewhat busy, so I chalked it up to that, plus i was a server and i know how busy things can get so i was giving here the benefit of the doubt.. When she finally did come to our table to take our order, I asked for the Mac n cheese. At that time she tells us that anything that uses the oven is 86'd including the Mac n cheese. (Why would you wait to tell people this just as they are ordering?!?!) So I told her I didn't want anything, she continued trying to sell me food. I told her I was happy with nothing. The rest of our table ordered their food. Another 25 or so minutes she comes by to refill drinks. When prompted, I said no thank you. She ignored that request and brought it anyway. I told her I didn't order a drink and she argued that I had. I said if I can't eat here then I can't drink and asked her to return the drink. My daughter asked for cherries for her drink and did not get them, i went to the waitress station and asked for some cherries and went to my seat. Shortly after that the "dj" said the pizza is great here so don't forget to order a pizza. I turned to the table next to me and said well there is no pizza, their oven is down. This place obviously does not communicate.

Before I lost my nerve, I went out to the car. The rest of my party stayed and told me that the "manager" was sent to our table because what I said upset the waitress. The fricking nerve. They were charge for a drink they didn't get and the turkey in the club that my friend got was bad. However he did say they served him the best drink he ever had so I guess that makes all right? AGAIN WILL NEVER...

Giving a 3 for a solid has potential. The food was good. The service was great in our experience.. but it was slow and mid day lunch so may be different at night. The problem with this joint.....(while some die hards may love this fact).....is the fact that I can use the word joint, and its very applicable. I know there has been a lot of management turnover and it's no wonder why. The place is lacking identity. It is in the middle of a Lakeshore community on Scenic Dr. Why red rooster? Why a rough and tumble feel? This place needs a serious face lift and it needs to connect to its surroundings. Something woodsy or beachy. I'm missing the connection between the rooster and scenic dr. I'm guessing that's why this seems like a very locals only type of place. To reach out to the tourists and the visitors( yes I'm sure the locals don't want this but growth is a good thing. Say it with me...growth is a good thing especially for a business which wants to make money......) it needs to compete with places like hobos and the deck. It just does. Outside seating......relevant theming.....and better marketing. It has potential but whoever is running it needs to not be afraid of change. It may be a place that's been around for a while but it doesn't have to...

A couple of months ago I would have given them 5 stars on food, but something has changed with the walleye. The last few times we have went for the Friday Walleye special has not been good. We will get one or two pieces that are excellent and then we get a piece that is soooo fishy tasting it is very hard for me to believe its walleye. Don't know whats going on, but we each get at least one piece that is externally fishy. If we order and are paying for walleye, then we should get walleye. We stopped going to another place for our Friday night fish because Red Rooster was so much better and better priced, but we keep getting almost uneatable fish mixed in with our walleye. Please go back to the way you used to sever ALL walleye so I can give you 5 stars for you food because it used to be that good. I do agree with some of the other reviews on the service and kinda slow and they do seem to spend more time with the folks at the bar then tables, but still not bad. Just please...

The wife and I was taking a drive and found this place the bartenders was super nice. She recommended the walleye special and it was delicious. For walleye fries and homemade coleslaw for $10 it was a great deal and the portion was well worth it. We are not from around here and asked her a good place to go to see the lake and she told us that there was a walk way right across the street which we thought was really cool after our walk we came back and she made sure we had drinks ready when we got there. 10/10 would recommend this place and we for sure will be back!

I was disappointed in the time it took to get our food. We waited for about 45+ minutes for a simple nacho and salad!! Then when it came, as you can see by the phot the nachos were very small and hardly anything there. We did eat the food but will have to decide if we would go back. If we did/do go back it would ONLY be because our waitress was great she kept us in drinks and kept apologizing for how long our food was taking and took some off the bill so she may have saved future customers coming back.

Perfect late lunch along Scenic Drive- we wanted to stop last time we were up here and finally did! The music was a little loud for 2:30 on a Sunday with maybe 10 other people around… Boyfriend said his chicken tenders were pretty dry but he ate them and those fries were great. I got the biggest club ever, photo only shows half of it! Service was great. We’ll be back. Thanks!
