Let me preface, as saying i have been going here every summer for over 20 years. Usually, they are very fast and friendly service, we've always been happy coming to get ice cream and look forward to it every year. Today we went to the walk up ice cream shop as usual. After the majority of my party ordered, I needed to place my order. They asked me to wait a moment, and spent nearly 20 minutes looking for an ice cream that wasn't missing, they just miscounted how many they had scooped. When it was my turn, I ordered a brownie Sunday which on their menu board is listed as $8, the server charged me $12. I had already handed over my money when he announced the amount. When I asked where the extra $4 went, he first tried to say the toppings I had asked about (fudge, whip cream, and nuts) were the extra. I reminded him, he had just said they were included in a sundae. Next he told me the extra $4 was the brownie, as in a brownie is not included in a brownie sundae, its an additional charge. I walked away since it seemed no amount of logic was getting my extra $4 back. Read moreI enjoy the view from the tables. Yes the food is very good but I'm not gonna chat on & on about food. Not here to specifically rate food & beverage quality, as much as I should. To know that it can be busy during high season is when visitors' patience and kindness are key. I do wish there were certain soft serve flavors at the ice cream stand. Not all just hard ice cream. Footwear should be strongly advised! The cafe and store is located on island, treat it like a business, not your own camp!!! Wear shoes, sandals, etc. If customers can take their own time to wait in line for ice cream and their meals (to be cooked), they most certainly are capable of taking a few minutes to put shoes, (sandals etc) on before going inside either the store and cafe. That important non-existent rule needs to be more strict and enforced. Employees need to be very vocal regarding customers wearing appropriate closed shoes/ sneakers. Read moreWe went recently with family and while I was a bit unsure about going out to eat, even outdoors, it was unnecessary. Staff were at the docks ensuring that people were wearing masks when they got off and the only area where masks were not required to be on was your table if you had a reservation.
Food was fantastic and they were exceptional with helping ensure I had a fish based dish of my choice that did not contain gluten, as only one dish had fish that was not breaded and it wasn’t the one I was hoping for. They accommodated without problem, which was very appreciated.
