Zakary’s — Restaurant in Gaffney

At the corner of Limestone and Concord you will find this Jewel of a Coffee Shop. I loved this little shop and wish we were not just passing through. We came in late in the business day and were heartedly welcomed. We wanted a simple coffee and wanted to use simple terms. We did NOT feel ashamed using words like Small, Medium and large. There was a short line but service was quick and friendly. The rapid pace of filling orders was in part due to the fact that the server seemed to know everyone there AND what they wanted. He would just say, “Hi, Mike, do you want the usual” and things just flowed from there. Our coffee was excellent and, either the prices were really low, $3.00 for two cups of fresh coffee with cream, or an extra cup of coffee was thrown in because the shop was closing in 10 minutes. As we were leaving with our coffee, the server/barista, (Could he have been Zakary?) asked if it was our first time in the shop and we said yes. I am not one to leave messages, and what I am about to say is not hyperbole. This coffee shop is not just the best coffee shop in town, it is the best place to spend your money. I have lived in Gaffney for about 5 years now, and only recently was introduced to Zakary's.

The coffee is quite simply the best I have ever drank. The pricing is more than fair and the environment is great. But that isn't enough to make me post a review. It is the people there and specifically the owner. His positivity and energy are the number one reason I will come here for my coffee every chance I get. It makes it feel like he cares about everyone that walks in that door like they are the most important customer he will ever have. Being in his shop makes me want to be more positive in my day to day.

Zak is a very long-time friend and I JUST discovered that this is his little Slice of Heaven! He is one of the kindest and most genuine people that I've ever had the privilege to know. I love that he has given our community a comfy little spot that is cozy and inviting for those of us who live in Gaffney on a permanent basis, but it is ALSO great that our Limestone College Students have a place to go have a coffee and use the wi-fi that ISN'T Starbucks! The shop is quaint, very tastefully decorated, has plenty of seating and, the BEST PART, the brews are OUTSTANDING!! He will specialize ANY menu item to your tastes, and he'll do it with that lovely grin of his that you'll NEVER forget!
