Waffle House — Restaurant in Gainesville

So, I've been a Gainesville local for a cool two years now, and your nearby Waffle House has been on my radar. But here's the kicker – the whole phone situation has me scratching my head. There are days when it's like a scene from a deserted movie, with just a couple of staff members and maybe a straggler or two. I get the idea of boosting the dine-in feel, but the voicemail script doesn't exactly jive with what's really going on.

Honestly, it's gotta be sending folks the wrong signal, and that's cash slipping through the cracks. Here's the scoop: I've driven past when the place looked more empty than my fridge before grocery day, just staff hanging out. And between you and me, the whole vibe around that iffy motel and the not-so-savory crowd chilling at the Shell gas station isn't exactly the "come on in" kind.

I've even swung by the Waffle House on Limestone Parkway 'cause they're all over answering the phone. But, I totally get that we're all in this post-Covid hustle to bring in more business. No fingers pointed here, just real talk.

Sorting this could seriously dial up the good vibes and your bottom line, no doubt. Just throwing that out – you feel me?

Too cold. Water in restroom at sink not even room. And if I wanted to say love you baby and sit near Rodney. I would. Something wrong. Everyone was getting free food. Simple folks couldnt even get fresh coffee or a refill. Upper management spends too much time on phone. Ask DJ? They last thing she said on phone to me was"it wasnt because of your boyfriend, was it? Remember the last time.PATSY? Nothing since. Never even returned my cashews that i left in her car. Heres 20 bucks work 19 hrs in one day. 3 double shifts in a four day weekend while she drives around in my car! Ask TODD MILLER, TROY BRADDICK AND PATRICK! They did their initial interview at 633..MY STORE. SHE DOES ASK ME IF I STILL MISS BRASELTON? Meaning MY family. But she wants me to think the store. I know PATSY..weve already talked about this. My grandmothers property is N.COLUMBIA DR. YOU ARE JUST FROM S. COLUMBIA DR.! And BACCCON" came from 501.. Laughter in training. Wheres ANITA, DEB AND MIKE? Thought deb wanted me to help her straighten out these waffle house people? I only know one DEB THAT MATTERS. SOMEONE JUST SAID SHOTGUN? I guess BOOM ON MY HEAD. PEOPLE DO THAT AROUND ME ALOT. This was by far, hands down the best Waffle House experience I've ever had. Parking lot wasn't crowded. Came right in, sat right down, food was served quick and tasted amazing. Nothing wrong with our order. Received our ticket quickly. Entire restaurant was clean including the restrooms and parking lot. Atmosphere was chill. "The regulars" were great to be around, and our waitress was so very kind and didn't pester us. I've never left more than a 20% tip, but this time I left 50% and complimented our waitress for the great experience. This first visit was on a weekday morning and every visit since then has been just as good. I think it helps that it's kind of hidden off the highway and is accessed by a side street. I rarely leave reviews like this, but great service deserves recognition. I was shocked to see it had 3 1/2 stars. Guess some of the people who rated it low isn't familiar with the Waffle House culture, food service industry, or how to be polite in exchange for polite service. Kudos to ALL...
