Delicious food every time.

While I understand that food prices have increased, the price increase in food does not justify how greatly Wolf Den has increased their prices. If you want to order any of their entrees, expect to spend a minimum of $16-20 a person without the tip. The sandwiches may be the only affordable items on the menu anymore, with each one being around $10 or more. The last time I came here with a group of friends, we decided this would not be a place to return to anymore. It is a shame because this was one of our favorite restaurants in Gainesville. Pre-pandemic, my husband and I were regulars here. During the pandemic, I would frequently order takeout here. The prices as they are do not seem justified, even with the recent inflation, and discourages me from returning here. Other restaurants in Gainesville have not increased their prices to the degree that Wolf Den has. This drastic increase in prices may very well decrease their business. The food is delicious, but not worth it...
Read moreEvangelizing at a local church this last weekend and came across this place and at first we went in and there was only a hand full of tables occupied. We weren't sure about the place but decided to order. Ordered chicken fried chicken, green beans cornbread, mashed potatoes, salad and sirloin. Within a few minutes the place was packed with every table and people in lobby waiting and taking to go orders. I noticed a bunch of folks knew each other and hugging on each other. Our waitress, older lady short hair did amazing and for a moment I was about to get upset because I noticed people coming in after us getting served before us but then our food did come out timely, best of all hot and we were all pleasantly surprised at how good everything tasted. I'm from Fort qorth and we know CFC and Sirloin and I have to say this will be a stopoing place when we get opportunities to go through the area and we may even take a detour when possible to come back. We also had cheesecake, lemon and coconut pie and all was perfect! Definitely need to try that bomb burger on next trip....
Read moreTraveling through towards Kansas, decided we would do lunch at Cracker Barrel, as we approached the restaurant, we noticed how busy they were, decided to just keep going, until we saw a small cafe. We threw luck into the air, parked & went in. More spacious than it appears outside. It was clean, roomy with table & chairs, booth seats along wall. I learned from our waiter, they are known for their chicken fried steaks & catfish. We both had the chicken fried steak... it was perfect! Huge hand pounded & breaded steak, REAL mashed potatoes & Real cream gravy.. We both enjoyed the meal very much. They were kind enough to give me a piece of their catfish to sample. It was very good! We have no complaints, from service to food to atmosphere..it was a wonderful stop.. so much better than Cracker Barrel. Oh... if you're sporty & hungry enough they offer a challenge, to eat 4 chicken frys, 2 scoops mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable, 2 slices texas toast, and a salad all in 20 minutes you get it free along with those in your party. Don't pass this place by! We...
