I have been coming to awedaddys for many years. I honestly have never had a waitress that had such poor service. Dani H. Is what our receipt had on it and she was just plum rude. We were seated within the wait period we were told. We were seated the third table to the left however it was very uneven and in order to not have a drink spill, we had to scoot it over where the ground was more even which made bumping chairs with the other table beside us awkward. We sit down, our waitress brings over 4 drinks (that we didn’t even order), with straws already in them and open, I told her we didn’t order them, and she said “I’ll just leave them here”, and that she did, even after we gave her our actual drink order and she never came back to get them. She didn’t even come back to refill any of the drinks or to be able to ask her. I did order a Buschwacker with a peanut butter topper, I did not get the peanut butter topper added but was definitely charged for it, and when it was brought to me roughly about 15-20 mins after I ordered it, it was just pure liquid as it had time to sit around and completely melt before it was even brought to me. The kitchen crew brought our food out and I asked him for the ranch that I had ordered for my daughter. He brings me out a to go little container of ranch that was watery AND had pieces of lettuce in it. It looked disgusting. We had no ketchup, nor did the tables on both sides of us. We never seen the waitress again to even be able to ask for ketchup. Dani H, which is what I’m going to assume is her name, since she never told us her name and we found it on our receipt, just was not the friendliest, nor attentive and the 3 times we did see her, she had this go to h* on her face. I had to hunt her down to ask for our check. Which took me 20-25 mins after we were done eating to even be able to spot her anywhere. The food for the first time wasn’t the best. If I hadn’t been to Awedaddys so many times before and knew their food is normally better than it was last night. I would leave a negative review on that too. All of our fries were cold, and my daughters “chicken fingers” was like one chicken finger cut in two little pieces. However, y’all always have the best mozzarella sticks that I’ve ever had, and they are so good every single time! It was raining so they let tons of people stand around the tables where people were eating. Leaned against the rail beside our table were three men who I felt were standing over us while trying to eat, then there was a line of people in the walkway where we still felt hovered upon while eating. Everyone gets a call when their table is ready, I feel like they should sit in their car until a table is ready instead of standing literally over people while they are trying to enjoy their dinner. If we come again before y’all close for the season, we definitely will make sure we get a different waitress...
Read moreI have celiac disease and have to ask questions about what goes into my food and how it is prepared - just like someone who has a peanut allergy.
I hadn’t been back in a few years, but came back because they listed gluten-free food on the menu. I was excited and then humbly and quickly disappointed by the rudeness of our server. I had several questions about ingredients, and told her about my celiac and thanked her for her extra efforts. However, she was annoyed with me the entire time. My table was uncomfortable by her attitude towards me and questions I had. I wanted to know if I could have the Thai salad. It’s listed as gluten-free, but peanut sauce often has soy sauce in it, which is not gluten-free. I wanted to know what was in the peanut sauce, so I could order that salad. Instead, I was served shrimp and grits and TOLD by my waitress that the owner didn’t feel safe to serve me the salad. I don’t know that what I was told was even true. It would’ve been simple to exchange dressings to one that was safe.
Instead, I barely touched the poorly made shrimp and grits with uncooked vegetables. I was never asked if my food was good, which I obviously wasn’t satisfied with. At this point, it feels like it’s served this poorly to me so I won’t return. While I’m waiting for food, I wanted to know what was in the bushwhacker so I could safely order it. She told me the restaurant would not tell me the ingredients - a phenomenon I’ve never encountered at any establishment. I politely decline to order another drink or stay for the rounds my table was planning to enjoy after food. We all decided to leave and patron another local bar.
I rarely write reviews. I waited tables in college to pay my way, and it’s a very hard job. What’s not hard though is being kind to someone who’s being kind and patient with you. I came here excited to have safe gf food, was kind and patient with my server the entire time, and I left, HUNGRY, upset and feeling like the biggest inconvenience the restaurant has ever experienced for just having a few questions. I still tipped her well, but her unkindness left a lasting impression on me and a poor reflection on the business to my entire group. None of us plan to return...
Read moreThis is not a family oriented restaurant at all!! Upon our arrival we were greeted by 2 extremely loud and obnoxious drunk men in the bar area causing us to make the decision to move inside to eat. When walking inside, we practically walked through the dishwashing area to get to our seats inside. A rug would be nice to have on the floor when walking through the "kitchen" area. We even witnessed our server fall on the floor because of water and no rug on the floor. The food is average, over priced, and misleading on the menu. My 4 year old daughter ordered Mac n Cheese which ended up being a $4. 95 bowl of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (similar to Easy Mac). The Cheese Sticks were Amazing, but were mispriced on the menu to what rang up on our bill ($7.95 on the menu/$8.95 on the bill). I ordered the Crab Cake Sandwich which came served on a piece of burnt Texas Toast. I changed my French fries for Mashed Potatoes and was up charged, when on the menu all the sides are the same price. I also added a salad which states on the menu "Add a salad to any sandwich for $2.25", and was charged $3.95 for a bowl of shredded carrots with a few pieces of lettuce. The House Salad on the menu states the salad comes with cheese, onion, tomato, croutons, and dressing. There was no cheese on the salad and my husband was charged an extra $.50 to add cheese to his salad. My husband ordered the Fried Catfish, which was really good, but again added a salad which was misleading in the price to do that on the menu ($4.50 once the cheese was added). The Catfish came with French fries as a side, in which he received about 8 fries if that. The menu is not clear and is quite misleading. Our bill ended up being $50.00 for a mediocre at best meal. I would not recommend this restaurant for a family of 3 at dinner time on a...
