Update: too much has changed here. The sweet tea tastes funny, the service was slow, and the chicken was severely overcooked last visit. Also ordered off the lunch menu, sat before 3pm, check at 3:20, charged $5 more for dinner price (lunch portion for sure). Polo Rico chicken was pounded super thin and cooked into oblivion. Doubt I'll return. Real shame as this was my favorites

Original 5 star review: Los Toritos impressed on my first visit. I tried the guacamole casera (chunky avocado with pico and a lot of lime), it's made to order, and it was phenomenal! One of the best dishes I've had in a while, and I may get that as a meal next time! The salsa was quite good, great flavor and thoroughly blended, without being as thin and watery as other places. Their chips were a treat as well, like chili's, extremely thin and crispy, but without the weird oily aftertaste. I ordered one of the 3 nacho plates, thinking I'd get a cheese sauce on house chips, instead I got a plate with carefully layered beans, chicken, white shredded cheese and pico.. on thicker chips made from toasted tortilla halves. It was delicious and a huge portion I mistakenly thought I could finish! I also sampled a beef taco a'la carte for the sake of comparison. I don't care much for ground beef at mexican joints, and while it wasn't my favorite thing, I think it was better than any I've tried around here. Over half the hard shell was filled with meat, and it was moist without being soggy (my biggest complaint with most places).

The place was clean and neat, service was friendly, attentive and fast. Until construction on 109 is complete I worry about the location deterring business, but I think this place has the chops to compete with the long established staple restaurants in town. The guac casera alone is worth going for. Most of the items i tried felt like a fresh spin on what's usually boring classics. I feel like attention was paid to the menu, instead of just a factory cranking out food. Looking forward to trying the rest...

This was absolutely disgusting food. You guys should take off what says to be TexMex. This is nothing authentic. I tried the beef, chicken, chicken, shrimp fajitas, and the Carnitas. It all had a strange flavor taste to it. I spoke to some friends of mine and they told me they did not like the food either The hot salsa that was the only thing that was good And who can screw up a glass of water however when you ask for three lemons and you only get one I requested to speak to the manager and was denied I would not recommend this to my worst enemy if you want authentic Mexican food in Gallatin El tequila is OK but El Grulense Next to Fox pole on Main Street in Hendersonville is legitimate authentic Mexican food roll of thumb. Ordered carry out. Came to pickup after 25-minutes. Took our money. Then came back and said sorry we gave your order to Grub Hub and they have to remake our order. That’s all. No sorry, no discount, nothing. So here we wait for our food. Hope they get it right and it’s not cold.

The interesting part was when they asked me what exactly we ordered because they didn’t remember…..

Update: Our order was totally messed up and the worse part, it was ice cold. Did they give us the original Grub Hub order from the hour before???!!!!

I called to tell them and they were grateful that I offered to dispute the charge with my bank.
