Beautiful clean little wooden building close to Ashville. Very good dry wines and sweet wines. I like their "Struttin Tom" and their "Choo choo chambourchin" on the dry side. My wife likes their "Jack of Diamonds" on the sweet side. Some other highlights include a hot spicy peppered sweet wine, a sweet ice tea wine, a wine named after the legendary White Lady of the Buckhorn and even a few flavors of wine slushies. They have a bit of food including hot pretzels, meat and cheese plates, and wine ice cream. The grounds are really spacious and lush with mountainous forest. There is a gazebo for special occasions. Seating includes inside tables, bar (in non covid times) deck. And outside when there is outdoor entertainment. Parking is no problem they have a big gravel lot. Prices are very reasonable. Service is as nice as could be. They make you feel really at home. Souvenirs are also available.

Our daughter found this great, cozy winery close to Altoona (my husband’s hometown) when we did our fall roadtrip from Texas! We loved the spacious inside w/ souvenirs, the wine/wine tasting, tipsy cow ice cream and the outside vineyard & gazebo! The co-owner welcomed & waited on us, was so gracious and even took pictures of us! We purchased wines to take home! Great experience! Hope to return next year!

An award winning, family owned and operated winery. They offer a huge variety of wines, from very dry to very sweet, some cool variations (a spicy wine) and even phenomenal alcoholic ice cream. They have a wine club that celebrates new wines on December, March, June and September, a branch store in Indiana, and a beautiful place in Asheville. Recommend!

We visited this winery 5 years ago and a lot has changed on the property! They now have more outdoor seating and some open areas they are developing to host some larger events. Woody Lodge is not doing wine tastings but they did give out some free samples, and you must buy food to order wine. We planned for this and grabbed some food for lunch, then enjoyed several glasses of wine based on the samples. Woody Lodge has a lot of great wine options, which makes this a great place to visit. We bought a bottle of Chambourcin Choo Choo which was excellent chilled!

Our old review: We really liked the wines and loved the tasting room. Bob the owner stopped by when we were there, and answered all the tough questions we had about his wine. They were sold out of several wines by June, but they still had plenty for a good tasting. They are open late so put Woody Lodge last on your wine tour and enjoy a glass of wine after...

Recently Woody's lodge added in a Gazebo area perfect for a small, intimate ceremony location and leveled out an area for a tent reception. We had so much fun working a wedding at the Gazebo and inside the tent - the wedding was beautiful and there is a state park nearby for you to go get photos. The tent is huge and can hold plenty of people (at least 150) and had area for an indoor backup. We had a great time partying and we loved that they offered their wines during the reception. Can't wait to come back...
