This review is for the service we received at Motts Creek restaurant on 10.05.2024. My mother was recently diagnosed with terminal illness, so I came to the area to support her and spend time with her. She and her husband like dining at Motts Creek though they normally come on weekdays. So, we decided to include a lunch at Motts Creek to enjoy our time together. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a big mistake. While the food was good and the seafood seemed fresh, the service was simply the worst any of us ever received and we dine out a lot! Specifically, we chose an open area behind main dining room to be seated and picked a table close to the bar. A waitress approached us and brought us water. She then disappeared and we did not see her for about 20-30 min. When she finally reappeared, we decided to order drinks and food right away so not to waste more time. Drinks took reasonably long to be served. However, the food literally took forever. Over the next 1-1.5 hours we saw people who came after us being served and finishing their lunch. Well, our oysters actually took âonlyâ about 30 min and the waitress took them to another table first who told her they did not order oysters. Only after that the waitress checked on us. After the above we continued watching two waitresses serving the entire restaurant but not us despite we came before everyone else at that point. This is when my mother decided to ask young waitress if she was bringing our food when once again the waitress did not know who to serve. The waitress barked at my mother in the rudest tone possible âthis is not yours!â leaving us all stunned. We were not happy but continued waiting for our food since all of us were very hungry after a long wait. Finally, more than one hour later we got our food but not my mom who ordered Caesar salad with seared tuna and my seared tuna appetizer. The waitress quickly disappeared and I started searching for her to inquire about our and especially my motherâs food because she is weak already due to her illness and needs regular food intake. When I finally found a waitress, she decided to be âsmartâ and said âtuna takes a long time to cookâ on which I reasonably noticed that seared tuna takes only 2 minutes to cook and that weâve been waiting for over an hour for it. Waitress seemed very irritated and told me in a very rude fashion that tuna will be coming. It finally did. An hour an a half after we ordered and two hours after we sat at the table. After this neither of the two young waitresses who served that area came to clean our table or bring more water even though we were very police despite their rudeness. Seeing this, a bartender, a very nice lady, upon her own initiative took away empty dishes from our table and brought water to us even though we were not her customers and the bar was full of people. We respected that the bartender acted with professional courtesy towards us and gave some extra tip to her for being nice. This is while we were left extremely disappointed by the treatment coming from two young waitresses. Not only they completely neglected our table and probably screwed up our order in the first place which is why everyone who came after us was served and finished their meals by the time we finally got our orders. Yet, instead of apologizing they lied and even dared to bark at my mother, a frail-looking lady in her 60-s! We will never be coming to Motts Creek again and I strongly recommend spending over $200 for a lunch elsewhere unless the owner fires these two obnoxious and rude young waitresses. P.S. One reason for multiple delays became apparent to me when I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and refresh makeup right before we left. While in a bathroom, I realized someone was quietly seating in a stall and not doing anything. As I finished and was about to leave, one of the obnoxious young waitresses came out staring at her phone. Apparently, playing with her phone in a bathroom is far more important to her than...

After kayaking our arms into jelly, we stumbled upon this waterside wonderâand boy, are we glad we did! Tucked along the salt marsh, the view alone is worth the visit. Think National Geographic, but with better snacks.
Letâs talk food: The only flop? The calamari. Poor little rings of rubbery regret. They were so overfried, I think they briefly reincarnated as tires. Sent them back with love and a tear. But redemption came quicklyâŚ
The crab cakes? Glorious. Moist, not masked by a pound of breadcrumbs or a rogue spice rack. Just pure crabby joy.
Shrimp tacos? A masterpiece. We even joked (half-seriously) that next time weâll ask for sausage on the sideâbecause why not chase seafood bliss with a little meat?
Shrimp & crab salad with avocado creamy dressing , fresh, and the kind of dish that makes you consider moving closer to the coast just to eat it daily.
Now, a word of warning: bring bug spray. Or a suit of armor. The greenhead horseflies are the real house special, and they come free with your meal. Natureâs little reminder that paradise always has a price.
You can literally park your boat and float in for a biteâhow cool is that? Or take the car, but please, PLEASE watch for turtles. We had front-row seats to a sad moment when a truck flattened one of these shelled sweethearts. Letâs just say the turtle didnât win that race. Be kind, drive slow, and rememberâturtles were here first.
Final verdict? A delicious escape with unforgettable views, great food (minus the calamari), and the occasional bug ambush. Would kayak back for the crab cakes alone.
Extra bonus: On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, theyâve got live music from 5â8 or 6â9 PM (check the website for times). Nothing says âperfect summer eveningâ like good food, cold drinks, and a live band as the sun sets...

Ok, so now that we got rid of the riff-raff, let me tell you about this awesome little tavern tucked away in a quiet little corner of Galloway Township....
My wife and I were in the area and just happened to stumble on this place. What were we doing on a dead end street by a river??? Some questions are better left unanswered. You can't miss it tho...there is literally nothing else around. We sat out on the deck which is on the water, and I mean on the water! If you look down between the decking, you'll see the river down there!! I'm not even kidding.
Our waitress was amazing! Fast, courteous, friendly, and attentive! Our food came out fast and hot, a burger and wings for myself, and a crab cake sandwich for my wife. It was all amazing. The burger came with homemade potato chips, which are always awesome. My only gripe with the food was the bacon on my burger was soggy and I like it crispy. The portions were good for the price and the quality was excellent! But if you want crispy bacon, let your server know because, you know, crispy bacon matters
The only negative was the millennials getting drunk at the table behind us. Well, they were well past the getting drunk stage. They were insanely loud. I get that it's a bar but there's no need to yell at the person next to you. It was annoying and we would have stayed longer had they not been so annoying. At least 2 other tables left early because of them as well so it wasn't just me being a cranky old Gen Xer. Seriously, no one cares about your rototiller and hot tub, dude.
Anyway....this is an awesome place. The food is excellent, the waitress was amazing, and you really can't beat the view. But let's keep it between us and let the riff-raff go someplace...
