Fresco Mart General Store & Deli — Restaurant in Galveston

While on a work trip I needed to use the bathroom and on this stretch of road, there are no bathrooms available as well as no porta potties on the beach. I ran in there and begged the clerk if I could use his bathroom real quick. He told me no that they didn't have a bathroom which is a lie. Of course they have a bathroom but it's for employees, whatever. He then pointed to a TV screen with multiple camera views on it next to him that the entire store could see and pointed to a drain on the ground at the back of the store and told me I could go squat back there. How disrespectful and rude to say some thing like that to a human being. I understand you don't want to let people use the bathroom. That’s all you have to say. But to tell a woman to go drop her pants and squat over a hole in the ground in the back of their store with a camera watching her for the entire store to see and on video... Are you...

Don't shop here unless you absolutely have to. Town isn't so far away that you can't drive the extra 2 mins to get to the Dollar General or even a little further to get to Walmart. The lady is a bit rude having you stand at the register while she does paperwork and pretends you're not there. Then they have products labeled at 1 price and tries to charge you a higher price at checkout. When you show her the price marked she says "that's not my label" then I pointed out that it's the same style of label as what's marked on the other products in the store. Lol wow.. Small bag of size 3 Huggies for $21.99 ummm no you have them marked for $6.99 so I'm not paying $22 for something I can get 2 miles down the road for $8 bucks. The feel was very unwelcoming, my female friend asked to use the facilities and we were grumpily told that the Port a can was located out back. And mind you this is one grown adult to another grown adult. I get it those folks out west treat everyone like tourists. I don’t usually visit those haunts and haven’t in a while, but on this Monday morning I was entertaining a client.
