Mexican food served by nice staff that speaks limited english. This can be somewhat daunting if you dont speak at least rudimentary spanish. It appears that they may have a buffet setup, but not the evening that we visited.
Don't come here expecting to be handed a menu with prices when seated. The server had to be asked what dishes they offered at the time of our first visit.
I ordered a Carne Asada plate which consisted of tough, overcooked, thin strips of round steak, accompanied by decent rice, beans, and great hand made corn tortillas, The salsa bar had several very spicy hot salsas and fresh pico de gallo.
My friends both ordered 3 al pastor tacos and an order of guacamole, which were both delicious. The guacamole was made to order and was more than enough fo the three of us. We all just had bottled water on ice to drink, and the bill excluding tip came to $30.
We will return, but all agreed it will be for al pastor tacos...
Read moreOk so we are not from here, I have spent 2 1/2 hours of my day looking for a Mexican market with meat, bread, tortillas etc. and this is the ONLy place in Savannah area where I was able to get all of those things. They also have a Mexican buffet which is amazing and omg they were so so so sweet. I’m so happy I found this place!!! It’s not as big as the ones we have in my hometown but it came close to get the basics and I’m a happy camper for sure. I had to come back and add to my review. I love this place!!! I had their menudo and tamales and they were AMAZIN. It is not easy to find a place that can make these two dishes as good as they do! & their customer service is beyond great. I called and it was their last serving and they offered to save it for me. And that they did. Their corn tortillas are FRESH and delicious. I haven’t had any like that since I was a kid. Love this place you guys. One...
Read moreI haven't had authentic Mexican cuisine so good since Mrs. Margarite stopped serving a hot lunch at La Fiesta grocery in Varsity Plaza probably 25 years ago! That was when I became hooked on cilantro, an aromatic ingredient in pico de Gallo, which she would include with fresh tacos alpastor or carnitas. All this and more is available on the buffet at La Comarca. I did not have time to chat with the folks who run this grocery/restaurant, but I will soon. I may have a new favorite restaurant of all time. They're gonna need a...
