Garden House Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Garden Township

Super disappointed with the staff at this place. We arrived at 8:10-8:20 pm Saturday night. Several people outside smoking, all the doors were wide open. It looked and sounded like it was a happening place. So, we went in and sat at the bar. There was one table eating dinner and about 8 people at the bar. Not one of the three bartenders gave us the time of day. I connected eyes with the younger gal several times. I pinched my partner to see if we were invisible. We sat there probably 10 minutes before we decided to leave because the bar tenders wouldn't talk to us. They completely ignored us like we weren't there however they seen us. We left and were very taken back at what had just happened. While in the truck headed back to our place I decided to look up the reviews, trying to make sense of what just happened. It was then I realized their hours are until 8pm. Now I don't fault the business for closing at 8pm, but come on. Each bartender clearly seen us sit down and they clearly choose to blatantly ignore us...give us the common courtesy to let us know your closed. That's all it would have taken. I live in the area and had a friend from out of town, he was less than impressed. Do better ladies, all we needed was a little communication and it would have been just fine. But walking by us so many times and pretending we weren't there looked...

Workers are very friendly but there is no air conditioning. It's all about the food though and depending upon what day you go here, your food quality experience might be different each time. The inconsistency of this establishment gives it the two star rating from me. Lake perch was "fishy" tasting and I've heard this from others. The french fries here are to die for! When they have them. I was told they ran out last time we visited so they had to go to the mini mart to get fries. These were the absolute worst french fries I've ever had and I've eaten a lot. They tasted old and rewarmed. They really were "tough" fries. Four visits to this place are enough for me. Without consistency in their operation, this place won't...

Great pub/bar food in downtown Garden. Recently reopened and restored. We had the white fish sandwich special and the spicy shrimp wrap, both were phenomenal. They had the jukebox set to free, which my 9 year old son thought was amazing (and it was.)

The bar is super cool, original brought from Detroit on the 60s.
