The Dock Grill And Bar at Bay Ridge RV Park — Restaurant in Garden Township

We were so excited when The Dock Grill and Bar reopened this spring. My husband and children took me here for Mother's Day this past Sunday. We called and made reservations to make sure we had a table. When we arrived we were greeted right away by a real friendly gentleman. Our visit started out great, we were seated and presented with one Mother's Day Brunch menu. This menu only had 4 items to pick from. My two children were with us and they are 5 years old and 11 years old. Right away, the options were disappointing. When we chose the Dock, we weren't aware of the limited menu but we were still making the best of it. My children love biscuits and gravy so they both ordered that. The price was very high at $14 per plate but still we pushed on and ordered. On this menu it stated Sangria and Mimosa's were on special, I asked for a Sangria and the waitress stated that they did not have sangria at that time and they had to make more. It was one hour into this brunch service so I was surprised they were out of Sangria already, but again, I smiled and chose to order a mimosa. The waitress again was confused and brought us Lemonade Mimosa's which was not what we wanted. We drank them but were disappointed. Our food arrived, the biscuits and gravy, was seasoned strangley and had a strong garlic flavor which turned my children away from them. My husband ordered the potato pancakes and traded his meal for my daughter's meal so she would have something to eat since she didn't like the flavor of the gravy. My 5 year old did not eat anything and was very upset because he was hungry. The waitress asked us how our meal was and we expressed our disappointment but there was no compensation offered for the untouched plate of biscuits and gravy. We left hungry and with $94 less in our bank account.

We don't typically leave reviews but the new people who are running this establishment should be more transparent when running a holiday special. Why wasn't there a menu offered for children on a holiday when Mother's spend the day with their kids? I am not sure if the waitress was new or what was going on. She was friendly but seemed nervous when waiting on people. I don't think we will be back to The Dock anytime soon especially since the problem was not...

Beautiful view and atmosphere but the service was horrible.

We arrived at 6:45 and took 10 mins to get someone’s attention to open the door. Apparently their door is broken and locks unnoticed but the hostess looked at us twice through the window. And didn’t respond! Yes the Open sign was lit.

We got seated quickly and given menus and ordered drinks and got those relatively quickly. The waitress didn’t come back for our order for another 20 minutes. We ordered appetizers and our food. Our appetizers didn’t come out til about 8:30 with apologies... they kept the drinks coming but 1hr 30mins for appetizers and no sign of the food. Roughly around 10 to 9pm the food shows up, again with apologies but they messed up the order.

The food was less than spectacular, we ordered the whitefish sandwich and walleye sandwich. The fillets were barely big enough to be on a child’s menu and overdone. We never saw our coleslaw and with the mess up on our order decided to go.

We got our bill and ended up spending more on drinks waiting so long for our food and they charged us for their mistake (I had them correct that).

I’ve worked in the restaurant industry and have some compassion and understanding for being short staffed and busy, but this was ridiculous and unacceptable and nothing was done to remedy it but apologies from the waitress.

What could of been a nice stop on our motorcycle ride turned into a stressful endeavor. Even the family sitting next to us had the same experience and wished us luck.

I have to say with out a doubt this is the nicest place I been to. My wife and I were told about this place by a really nice gentleman at the Casino . It was our 1 year anniversary and we were looking for a a vary nice place to eat and have a vary nice time sharing our first and when we arrived at the dock bar and grill I was so impressed and I must say that the staff was vary kind and the food was some of the best I have had in a long time, a vary pleasant experience to say the least and when we talked to one of the ladies there she was just wonderful to talk to and was vary happy that we were celebrating our anniversary there at this beautiful place. I can’t say enough good things about the dock , my wife and I bragged about it to family and friends about it when we arrived home , and are so thankful for that gentleman that worked security at the Casino. Thank you to all the staff and chiefs that make that place the best that it really is, I would recommend the dock bar and grill to anyone wanting to have a grate meal good drinks and a pleasant experience with grate people. I even gave them a new drink that came from my home town in Canada 🇨🇦 the royal Canadian Carmel Apple .
