Nicky's Sammie Shack — Restaurant in Gardendale

We love this place! My husband and I were on the phone discussing what we were going to do for dinner and he happened to pass by this restaurant, (we had no idea it was there) and he quickly turned around and went back to see what they had and give it a try. That was about four weeks ago and we just placed our 4th order since!! The mushroom swiss burger and onion rings are so delicious! This is not your average burger! It is the best I have ever had at any restaurant. (I am not including fast food as a restaurant; they are just that; fast food). I gave five stars for service and atmosphere because every time we have placed orders over the phone or at the counter the staff has been exceptionally nice and friendly and when my husband has picked up the food they have been super nice and so far they have gotten our order correct every time! Now, I don't know about you, but I have not been able to say that about anyplace I have ordered from consistently in a very long time! I highly recommend this place! I do not think you will be disappointed or leave hungry! As for the price; they are a little expensive. However, you get high quality food that you can enjoy eating and the portions are plenty adequate and the cost is barely more than fast food! This place cannot be compared to a fast food restaurant . Everything we have had has been steakhouse quality or better! I definitely prefer the burgers over a Logan's burger any day of the week! I can't say enough about the quality of the food! You know what you are eating! We sure have not received anything that was anything but delicious! Just so you know; I do not know who owns this restaurant, nor do I know anyone that works there. I knew I was in for a treat when I got my sandwich (wrapped to-go) and upon opening for consumption I noticed an adequate size piece of bacon stuck to the outside of the wrapper! This must have been a strategically placed free of charge appetizer, and it was delicious. Upon further examination and opening of my “Chickie Salad” Sammie I noticed delicious sauce was everywhere, and meat and deliciousness flowing outside the sandwich spilling everywhere. Guys, this sandwich is not for the dainty or for the faint of heart. If you don’t want to get your hands dirty, bring a pair of latex gloves and a bib. This sandwich will make you want to slap yo momma, not in a domestic abuse kind of way, but your mouth will try to find a way to speak in tongues.
