Well done! On day 5 of my ride to Minneapolis, I stopped at Beary Patch for breakfast on a late May Wednesday. The waitress was no-nonsense and brisk. I wouldn’t be eating again till dinner, so I ordered the Hungry Bear: 3 eggs, a slice of ham and bacon with one pancake. It was incredibly good. I read another review that mentioned the eggs tasting good, and they really do. I had mine over-medium. They were correctly cooked and with margarine or butter. The ham was a thick slice, and like the eggs, tasted very good; same with the bacon. The hash browns were also bang on. The pancake was good, but probably better if I had eaten it when it was warm; I ignored it. Even the tub of strawberry preserves that came with the toast was awesome. It’s not like those sealed tiny single serves. Every item I ate was very, very, good.

Surprised by how good the coffee was! Homemade bread and jam. Omelet was average, our waitress seemed nice to the locals, but was less than pleasant to out of towers. The other waitress working was very nice. Overall, I would probably stop if I were in the area again.

Amazing homemade food from a classic road side diner. I think there were just two women running the place and the food and service was perfect. Excellent bread and jam as others have said. Definitely worth a stop if traveling in the UP

Rascist waitress, most horrible service we ever received! We usually love to support small businesses and stopped by for a Sunday morning breakfast. The old lady with the short hair who was the cashier/waitress gave us a very different treatment compared to other customers. Initially we didn’t realize her passive aggressiveness:

-Entire place is themed teddy bear, all kids were coloring, the place is filled with crayon art of teddy bears, she didn’t offer our children any coloring material

-She threw the straws towards the children, the well behaved children said thank you, she had no response

-She asked the table behind us if they needed a coffee refill, and for us she didn’t bother asking just filled the cup, spilt half of the cup on the table and then walked away

-After few of her more passive aggressive behaviors, we asked her what was the issue, she said she had ‘few bad days’ but then continued with her passive aggressive behaviors just with our table, while kept smiling with other tables.

-She then messed up our order.

-Instead of trying to resolve the issue, she started venting to the cook in the back

-We finally decided to leave before even starting our meal and took the food to go, thankfully found a nearby beach to not let a nasty old lady ruin...

This place is a GEM! The colored teddy bear pictures on the walls were absolutely delightful! The service and food were crazy wonderful. Our server was so attentive and genuinely cheerful. She literally whistled while she worked and hustled and actually jogged at some points! She took care of everyone and everything in short order and all with a smile. We each ordered omelets (I HIGHLY recommend the Engadine) with hash browns and delicious thick crispy toast (served with what I have to assume was homemade strawberry jam). Three thumbs up for this place! And although it was not on our typical beaten path, we will DEFINITELY be back on our next trip to the UP! (And hopefully our server will still...
