Pupuseria Lilian — Restaurant in Garland

There are only a couple reasons I'm giving Lillian's 4 instead of 5 stars. We ordered a ton of pupusa's, some tamale's, and the plantain empanada desert items located at the counter. Unfortunately, there was a hair stuck smack-dab in the middle of one of the empanada's. I know things happen occasionally, so I'm not mad; but obviously not pleased about it. Also, I wish they would package the different pupusas in different boxes and label them. I have yet to find a Pupusaria that does; and it's annoying! We've never had Salvadorian Tamals, we thought the flavor was good, but a little too soft, but maybe this is just how they are when wrapped in banana leaf instead of husks? The pupusa's were fresh and hot. I thought they were a bit rubbery, but other fam member thought it was the best they've ever had. The coleslaw was good again fam member thought it was awesome, I thought it was ok; but I've found THE best Salvadoran Coleslaw, it's in Houston and NO ONE has beat it! On the red and green sauce, the red is pretty spicy, the green milder, family was split on which was better. My only complaint here is that they hardly gave us sauce for the mass number of pupusa's we ordered. Since they charge extra, then they need to be less stingy. in America we like sauce, so please provide it or don't charge extra. Just please improve on the cleanliness level (based on my experience and reports of others). I had to ditch one of my favorite pupusaria's in H-Town because they started declining on their cleanliness. Keeping restaurants clean is hard work and food safety is not easy. Please don't cheap out on good staff, pay a fair wage so they do their job properly or your business will go to hell. Don't know why business owners don't know this. As for the complaints about slowness that others talk about, I've NEVER seen a pupusaria move quickly unless it's junk. Good fresh food takes time. They even tell you ON THEIR WEBSITE... but no one wants to read nowadays. Don't know how folks expect food to be delicious AND instant, not simpatico' people! In sum, we all agree their food is very good and we will definitely give them a 2nd chance to clean...

I ordered twice by phone so I didn't had to stay here for long time but neither of those two times had my order ready, I don't know if it's just me but on first time it was raining very hard and I placed the order by phone they said it was going to be ready in 15 minutes but when I got there I waited in the line and when it was my time after 10 minutes my order was not ready so I waited for about another 15 minutes and when I asked again they said my order was never taken to the back to be prepared so I waited since they said it was going to be next so it took about another 5 to 7 minutes, I decided to give it another try so after a while I placed another order by phone and the same thing happened to me my order was never taken so I said why are they doing these is it some kind of descrimination because it's the second time these happens to me, anyways I waited and when I got home I was missing two pupusas from my order I call and I told then that I was very disappointed and never when back plus I think the prices are very high. As the name "Pupuseria" and the slogan "Authentic Salvadoran Food" the pupusas are 5 out of 10, but there is something that maybe could save the pupusas wich is the traditional and famous Tomato Sauce wich it is a signature of this dish but sad to say that was the worst i ever try around Dallas it's oily, too spicy, overall has 2 out of 10, i try 3 kind of pupusa, Cheese, Beans and cheese( the best they have) and loroco and cheese this one was okay, of course the loroco flavor can be altered because it's natural.
