Leona’s Restaurant — Restaurant in Gassaway

My husband and I are on a road trip and got hungry along the way. I googled places near us and this was the closest, so we decided to check it out. It’s a mom and pop shop and the servers were the (I presume) the owners daughters. They had a big party there so we had to wait a decent time for our food which the waitress did tell us prior. Once our food was being cooked the young waitress came out and told us our meal would be free for our wait time. I said that was NOT necessary as she did inform us and it’s hard to have a small business going in this economy. I was antsy to get back on my trip but by no means enough to want a comp meal. It really showed that they care for their customers. The locals who frequent are on first name basis and you can tell it’s a very good place to be and eat. I tipped our waitress very well because again they did not have to give us our meal for free. She wouldn’t let me pay for even half of our meal so we insisted on at least a coffee. Very cute place, very clean, sweet girls working there especially McKayla (sorry if I misspelled her name!) and very delicious food. Will have to come back on our next trip...

My friend and I go up to Gassaway three times a year and we always stop at Leona's for our Home Cooked Meal. The restaurant is so nice and inviting and very clean I have never had Chicken Pot Pie soup so today I would try it and it was absolutely delicious. After I finished my meal I had to try a piece of the Cherry pie and I told my friend I said this pie is definitely homemade because it is too delicious to be purchased in the store. Well it's time to rate leona's. Weeks of I first noticed once I walked through the door is a candy machine it is a play til you win game! I loved it and kids loved it. The place is filled with fun pictures and signs to look at with your food is prepared. Menu's within your reach and the place smells nice and very clean.
