For the very first time after many times my family has eaten at this place we were very disappointed. The restaurant was Smokey in the dining room. It was so smoky it was hurting our eyes. The customer service was excellent. Our major complaint was the smoke beans which has always been a must at this place, came in a little tray that might have had maybe four tablespoons it wasn't a very much. My folks call it a dab if beans. This place has never been cheap in price but you always got your money's worth. This is the first time we felt cheated for the money! We left hungry!!!!! If you leave a barbecue place hungry you went to the wrong place. It's no longer one of our favorite barbecue places. We have spent a lot of money here at this place over the years but we won't spend anymore hard earned cash here. I've noticed that KT hasn't been as busy as in months past. Maybe a change of ownership, I don't know. But it's not the place it used to be with the portions they use to serve. But on the bright side. We found a place in Harrison that we think puts this place to shame. Guess where we're spending our money now? KT ...... get your act together. You...
Read moreMy sons and I stopped in for dinner when in Cotter for a day of fishing. I have travelled extensively, and seek out local BBQ wherever it is found. This place holds up to some of the best places I've been yet. I had the sliced brisket and smoked sausage, while my sons had brisket, pulled pork, and ribs between them. The brisket is Texas style and succulent. It reminded me of some of my favorites in the San Marcos/Lockhart area. Smoked sausage has a great rich flavor and a pleasant bite. Everything was well executed with excellent flavor. Beyond that, they are warm, welcoming hosts. Gassville and Cotter are small towns who also have a lot of out-of-town visitors due to the many outdoor pursuits available in the area, especially trout fishing. Every guest who entered the door while we were there, locals or visitors, ourselves included, were welcomed as if they were beloved friends who were coming for supper, and there was not a hint of insincerity about it. An honest happy place with...
Read moreOk, hope i remember all. Got the 1/2 slab rib meal with mac n chz and bbq beans. The ribs are short St Louis style cooked dry then basted with about the same coating that Buckingham's BBQ in Spngfld uses..yummy. the meat pulled off the bone and was smoky and lightly pink. No burnt ends. Ok!!! The macnchz was the hit. All the other bbq joint need to take heads up. The cole slaw is unsweetened and is just perfect..dont change a thing..yum.. the beans are average and a bit chewy. The white potato salad is superb and the mustard potato salad is just like mine. The place is super cute and live the sign out front. The spicy bbq sauce is my fav for them and their house bbq sauce is exactly like 'Sonny's BBQ" in Florida...not a fan. Thanks so much all and hope no more scares as we head into our needed recession to bri g prices back to reality. Tim-...
