Disappointed - Rude Service & Subpar Food!

We were in town the last weekend of the month for gun show. They had allowed our promoters to put one of the large signs on their property. So as a group bunch of the vendors decided to eat there for a thanks. About 30 people. It was early Saturday night (6pm)so they were fairly empty but appeared to have plenty of staff. The manager came over to let us know she would assign us two waitresses ... great! They can tag team. This did not happen. We had to constantly look for them to put in orders and refills ect. We all felt like an inconvenience to them. They got 8% standard tip for large group split but honesly service was so bad they didnt get much more. When we do group outings the waitstaff are normally well compensated. But consensus of the group was not for rude service. My husband and I stayed for music ... one waitress rolled her eyes because I asked for another beer. I would have liked to stay for 2nd set but my husband was getting really irritated with them.

The food was meh to blah. All the fried food was fried too hot. Therefore on the verge of burnt and too crunchy/hard when it cooled down. My husband said his cfs was yuck. A sin in Texas. I will say their cheese curds were so good ... they were very cajun style spicy. Never had them this way.

I can truly say not again. I would not...

I was very disappointed with the service in this place. We waited a long time to even be acknowledged that we were waiting to be seated. The waitress comes back about 10 mins later I swear and says yall can go sit at the table under the TV by the stage (TV was off) didn't even bring us to it had us go by ourselves. Then we sat at the table for another 10 minutes while the table next to us had sat after us and were already getting their drinks. Then we asked another waitress hey can we get a waitress and she says oh yall haven't been helped and we said no. Then here comes the same girl that told us to sit at the table and she's says what can I get yall to drink. I said you know we sat here for like 15 minutes on top of the 20 mins we waited to be sat and she just gave us a smirk and nodded her head with a smile. So we said nevermore not going to have this service and all 7 of us got up and walked out and we will never try it again worst service I have ever had and I have ate in so many places states cities and never been...

Arrived around 1pm on labor day Monday, it looked to be around half capacity. The rest of my party had arrived ahead of me and had ordered drinks including mine. 20 minutes after I got here half the drinks showed up, another 10 minutes for the rest. Instead of taking our order for food, our server mentioned them being short handed and left. Another 15 minutes or so and we finally get to order....apps and entrée. 30 minutes later and out comes the food. Steak is significantly over cooked, bacon on blt is under cooked, grilled mixed veg is burnt. Eventually we get checked on again, I show the waitress the steak and she laughs it off - oh well, kitchen is short handed too. Then the check - no attempt to make it right, no dessert, no to go, just here's the check.

That's 75 bucks down the drain... next time I'm In Gatesville, I'll eat at the gas station.
