Taco Time Llc — Restaurant in Gateway

We got several of their dishes…Carnitas Sope, Cuban Torta, AlPastor Quesadilla & Tacos, etc. They do a good job with the tacos especially with the pineapple and radish!, but the meat does not have authentic seasoning that it should. The meat on the Sope was all grissle. YUCK. The quesadilla, same as the tacos, meat has little to no flavor. Which brings me to the Cuban sandwich. That’s what I was excited for! We leaved on Key West for a few years and know/love Cuban food! I’m not sure what it was, but it is NOT a Cuban Torte! Restaurants everywhere are putting “Cuban Sandwiches” on their menus that in no way resembles the real thing. No one around here makes “Cuban bread”, so I get making it with whatever bread you use, but it’s what’s on the inside that really matters. Cuban roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, yellow mustard and dill pickles. And that’s it! If you put other things on it…it’s something else entirely. Restaurants need to make whatever sandwiches they want, but please stop calling them Cuban’s and getting...

Called our food order in over an hour before we needed to pick it up, three tacos and a burrito. I show up at the designated time, girl at register acts like it's ready, asks me to tip her, and after I do, she tells me it'll be just a minute. For the next 20 minutes I wait patiently. Finally, I had to go ask about the whereabouts of my order. I get an, "ooops, I forgot about it". My entire lunch time was wasted by this flippant lady at the register. There used to be a really nice young lady at the register, but they seem to have put her to the back of house and this new girl up front, and her service completely sucks. They also don't give out chips and salsa with our orders anymore either. Don't think I'll be going back till they get their ship together, and I'm definitely not paying or tipping them until I know the order is...

This place has fantastic food, the best, friendliest service (wow!), lots of outdoor, covered seats...even a big screen! I had the nopales sope, extra charred, per the staff's recommendation. Best nopales I have ever had! They were fresh and grilled, the beans were great, avocado, tomatoes, lettuce on top. Delicious. I also ordered a potato taco (I didnt realize it was 'sausage potato' but the lady taking my order offered to pull out the sausage! Wow! Thanks! It was so great.

The salsas: the salsa that came with the chips was fresh and just enough spice! They also have a mild green salsa that is so flavorful and a great red/orange spicy salsa. And the tacos all come with a lovely, grilled jalapeno. ❤️
