Beautiful setting but this restaurant definitely lacks creativity. The menu and food could definitely be better thought out and executed. Service is almost consistently awful. My family and I have been here on several occasions as there isn’t much of a choice at Brookgreen if you plan on staying in the park. EVERY time, we are rushed out and made to feel uncomfortable. We feel as if we are bothering the staff by requesting to sit and eat. Y’all, we have three children and they sat us, got our order, shared an appetizer, had our entrees and they grabbed our plates back all within 30 MINUTES!! We had our last experience with Cece as our server. This last experience made me regret coming to Brookgreen at all! She told us they ran out of the dessert that was the special for the day and as we left we saw another table getting that dessert brought to their table. Also, before we could even get up from the table , we were swarmed by 4 or 5 people clearing the table. !!! It was madness. Y’all, my girls were very well behaved! I really wish they consider reevaluating their staff’s service etiquette as this place ruins the beautiful experience Brookgreen could be.

An Oasis in the Summer heat of Brookgreen Gardens! After walking around in the morning heat, I was glad to find Austin's Harvest Restaurant. If you are walking on the garden paths, it can be a little confusing with the current construction. You can sit outside, or as I did, sit inside in the cool AC. The restaurant has somewhat of an upscale appearance, but with reasonable prices. The ice water was quite refreshing. The menu had an awesome selection, including many seafood choices, but I opted for the French Dip & Fries. I wasn't disappointed, and LOVED the fries. The waitress was on point, filling my water glass on this toasty day. If I were not seven hours away, this would be a regular stop for my family. There is plenty of parking, though the parking lot is not very close to the restaurant. The restaurant is at ground level, so easy wheelchair access.

What elevates the Nights of A Thousand Candles at beautiful Brookgreen Gardens? Dining at Austin's Harvest Restaurant. We made our reservations on line and were seated promptly at a table with a view of the decorated gardens. Our server was delightful and opened a bottle of Prosecco which we shared during our scrumptious meals. They offer an amazing dinner menu during the NOTC. We selected the Shrimp & Grits and Cottage Pie. We would have loved a salad with a roll to accompany our meals..hey doesn't matter we consumed and enjoyed our bubbly. Despite a rainy night, after dinner we walked through the grounds while hearing the music lingering in the background and took in the amazing magical atmosphere which has been created for everyone's enjoyment. Happy Holidays y'all.

A truly amazing dining experience. I started with a cup of the duck confetti gumbo. It was fantastic! Delicious, savory and flavorful. I expected a high level of spiciness but there was none. Just great taste. Then I tried the shecrab soup. ASTOUNDING! So delicious! I followed this up with the spinach salad with a warm bacon vinaigrette? Incredible! The best salad and dressing I ever had in a restaurant. For dinner, I hade the chicken and sausage ziti. Amazing! Absolutely amazing! So flavorful and enjoyable. Finally, I had the angus short rib burger. HEAVEN! Without a doubt one of the best things I've ever eaten if not THE BEST! If you're thinking of eating before you visit brookgreen, DONT! If you think it's too expensive, it's not. $15 to $25 per dinner. If you think the portions are too small, THEY ARE NOT! I'm 6'2" and 220 lbs. I can eat! I shared everything! I ate 1/2 or less of everything mentioned above and I thought I was going to need help leaving I was so full! My only regret? I didn't leave room for the beautiful and delicious looking desserts. A mistake I fully intend to rectify upon my next visit. A vist I plan to make sooner rather than later. Thanks for reading and THANK YOU HARVEST! THANK YOU AUSTIN! Your food is exceeded only by your lovely and professional staff whom added greatly to a wonderful experience. Keep up the good work. No wonder you have a 5 star rating. Ps. I don't do this. This is my 1st time rating...

After a few hours touring the verdant gardens and impressive sculptures of Brookgreen, we were thankful to enter the air conditioned ambiance of Austin's Harvest. We were seated quickly and our amazing server, Joshua, approached quickly with a genuine smile, and took our drink order. He brought our ice waters and unsweet tea with lemon and lime right away. We were impressed by the many choices on the menu. When Joshua returned, we gave him our order; she crab soup for both of us. Then I ordered the salmon spinach and strawberry salad with creamy tarragon dressing. My husband chose a simple cheddar cheeseburger and fries. Our meals came soon after we'd finished our soup. Mine was expertly presented and very aesthetically pleasing. Indeed, my husband's burger and fries were not as impressive, but perfectly prepared. I took a bite and that burger was deliciously flavorful. We both had to stop mid meal, so we would have room for dessert. We saw the special dessert of the day was lemon cream pie with blueberry compote. Joshua brought us to go containers, refilled our drinks and soon we were sharing that decadent dessert. We took our dinners home to enjoy before bedtime. Joshua was cheerful, attentive and he was an all around nice gentleman. If you're making a reservation, request Joshua! You will be treated to an...
