This place is beautiful, absolutely gorgeous. The food is absolutely mediocre if not bland and boring. I've been four or five times and now and disappointed all but once. The burger was good, nothing great but good. The rest has all been subpar and everyone I have eaten there with agrees. We had a girls night out with about ten women and all but one were not happy with the food. I love everything else about the place so much that I really wanted to give it a shot for brunch and try something different since the rest of my meals had been dinner. The drinks are always good and very pretty. Service is usually lacking, not terrible but not good or quick, but everyone is very polite.
Today was the worst. We went for our anniversary brunch because it's right down the road, I was aware I might still find the food disappointing based on past experiences but was hoping for the best and wanted something easy and close, plus I don't like to make decisions about restaurants without trying them several times and different menu items just to be fair. I understand everyone has bad days, the cooks, servers, ect. so this is my first review.
I didn't say anything while there because I do not want to seem like I'm trying to get free food, I don't do that or want that. I will pay for what I ordered. But really, it was a really crummy experience all around today and the owners do need feedback to do better. Our server took far too long to come to us, when she did she took our biscuit and drink order which also took far too long to arrive, and she didn't come back to take our meal order until our biscuits were ready so it had been just too long and I was starting to get irritated and hangry right off the bat. They weren't even busy at all at that time. I saw my mimosa sitting at the bar ready for a while and almost just took it myself. The bloody mary took a long time, it came well after the biscuits. I ordered the omelete, It was a dry egg folded over some sauteed veggies. No cheese, nothing seemed to even be salted, just dry and boring. It was not good at all. The food quality seems good and presentation is nice, but the flavor is seriously lacking. It didn't even come with a side and it was a mini omelete, I'm still hungry. Those prices are insane for not including a side. Luckily I had already ordered a side of potatoes - which came far too late and also were dry and not good, please do breakfast fried potatoes! (The waitress did say there was no charge for them and took 20% off the omelete for the delay, maybe because she had forgotten to put them on the ticket, I don't know.) The waitress was kind when she was at the table but that was not much. She never asked how the food was or I would have been honest at that point, I only saw her one time after the food was delivered and that was when we were nearly done and the potatoes arrived and she quickly dropped them off and ran off then the next time was to get our ticket.
I realize my experience is one of many, but if you get so many reviews saying the food is disappointing, you really need to reconsider your recipes. All of the items can easily be made great, anyone can make a good omelette. My husband didn't care for his food either, started our anniversary off really crummy and now we need to go find lunch, even though we had brunch and spent...
Read moreWe tried to give this place another shot today after not so great an experience a year or so back. Unfortunately the hostess had the place on lock down and we never made it past her. We showed up for Brunch about 9:45 this morning, a little worried it wasn't open because there were only 3 cars in parking lot but thought we got lucky. Went in and there were 3 ladies waiting on the hostess. When she got there she told them they were booked full but if they didn't mind outside she could seat them. They said fine, and she took them out back. Strange situation because the place was empty, I mean not a single customer at a single table, empty, no one in sight. We waited while she chatted with some staff and then came back to see us. She also asked us if we minded outside because they were booked. We said rather not, it was hot already and we could see the wind kicking up. We offered to sit at the bar, she said "we have bartenders coming"...not sure what that meant. She started to look at the pad and at that time one of the ladies in the group before us that she put outside, the only group in the entire place, came back to the reception and told her it was too windy where they were. Said it would be impossible to eat, and asked if she had another table out of the wind. She told them she didn't think so then got mesmerized by the pad on the table, I assume looking for an un-booked table in the 100% empty restaurant for these ladies....At any rate, with the trouble she was having seating the only customers in the building besides my wife and I, and focusing furiously on that pad, we left and headed to another place for brunch. It was now 9:57. My wife jumped on Open Table, pulled up Farmers Commons, and Open Table offered us a reservation at 10:15am with seating of our choice. We thought briefly about turning around and going back to ask how we could book a reservation of our choice in the empty establishment for 10:15, 15 minutes from the time we left the parking lot, but couldn't get a seat in the empty restaurant when we walked in.... Decided to just head to Salado instead. Disappointed, really wanted to give this place another chance, beautiful place and menu looks great, but for some reason this morning they just didn't want anyone in the building...? Very very odd situation and the second time we have had trouble just being attended to at a pretty...

I really enjoy this restaurant—what stands out most is the overall vibe and atmosphere. From the moment you arrive, the experience feels elevated. The entrance and driveway are grand, setting the tone even before you walk in. The space is part of a larger property that includes suites for overnight stays and a tasting room, which adds to its charm.
Staff is welcoming and polite, and during weekdays, the pace is relaxed with no wait to be seated or served. Weekends, however, tend to get fully booked. During a recent special occasion, we waited 5–10 minutes before anyone approached us, and we had to ask for water and someone to take our order—which was a bit disappointing.
The food is flavorful, and ingredients feel clean and fresh. One detail that could be improved is the pacing of courses. My soup arrived alongside my main dish, which made the table feel cramped—especially after ordering several appetizers—and caused the main to cool down before I could enjoy it.
Portions are generous, and the menu offers a nice range—from casual bites to more refined dishes. On a weekday visit, I was served bottomless wine that was unfortunately flat. It came in a bottomless-style glass with a casual printed message, which didn’t match the overall experience. Luckily, they replaced it with a proper wine glass and regular wine. On the weekend, some beers were unavailable, but the wine I had was very good.
I don’t recall much about the music, which is probably a plus—it was quiet enough to have conversations with family around a large round table. One thing that stood out (and not in a good way) was the presence of quite a few flies, both inside and out. That’s something I hope they address.
I love that the kitchen is fully open—you can see the talented team preparing dishes with care. While the service isn’t overly warm or personalized, everyone is respectful and professional.
Overall, it’s a beautiful spot—versatile enough for casual meals or special celebrations. I’ll...
